Felicity (Saadet) Party Deputy Chairman Mahmut Arıkan also attended the meeting, which was held with the participation of representatives of nine provinces of the Saadet Party, namely Antalya, Manisa, Uşak, Aydın, Isparta, Denizli, Muğla, Burdur and İzmir.
“THE SHELL GAME OF THE GOVERNMENT WILL BE USELESS BY THE HAND OF PEOPLE”
Speaking at the press conference held at the opening of the meeting, Saadet Party Deputy Chairman Mahmut Arikaan emphasized that they want to change the electoral system that the Justice and Development Party (AKP) and Nationalistic Movement Party (MHP) brought in 2018 for their own benefit, now that it harms them. Mahmut Arıkan said, “The government, which realizes that it cannot win the election in the system they have built due to the economic crisis, high cost of living, unemployment, loss of trust in public institutions, and all kinds of injustice that hurts the conscience of the society, wants to block politics again with this move. However, there is something that Turkey's political history teaches us; every government is defeated by the election law it brings. Fear won't do any good. The power will fail in the shell game it wants to play, and our nation will teach the government a great lesson for tomorrow's Turkey.”
“WE MET WITH THE FORGOTTEN QUEUES AGAIN”
Expressing that the traces of the deep economic crisis caused by the AKP government are visible in all indicators, Mahmut Arıkan stated that the real value of the Turkish Lira (TL) has reached the lowest levels in history.
“The AKP government has introduced our country to forgotten agendas due to the wrong economic policies it has implemented. Bread and oil queues, triple-digit inflation, and the currency crisis have once again become a part of Turkey's daily life. Even according to Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT) figures, inflation has exceeded 50 percent. We relied on 130 percent in figures from independent research groups. We saw three digits in monthly inflation rates. The most important reason for the price hikes in fuel is the currency crisis that the government has entered into and does not know how to get out. While Brent petrol has increased by 79 percent in the last year, the selling price of gasoline rose 187 percent,” Arıkan added.
