During the selection process, which continues until August 20, students who get 150 points or more in TYT will choose for 2-year programs, and students who get 180 points or more in AYT will choose 4-year programs. Considering the 2021 exam and its results, candidates should make their choices by taking into account the percentile success ranking rather than the score they get, in order to evaluate the current situation well and to hit their preferences. Because the scores that make up the ranking correspond to the success ranking less in this exam compared to the previous exam," he said.

"Considering the fact that the average of people who have a single occupation throughout their life in our country is higher than the others, especially students who will choose from the numerical field should first decide which field they will focus on. They should choose the areas where they can work and work with pleasure within the framework of their interests and abilities, without ignoring the determinations of their families in the selection of the field that is suitable for them. Selecting the appropriate university after the field selection is also very important for the healthy continuation of the higher education process. Alternatives such as whether the university he will choose is outside the city, whether it is a state or foundation university, whether the program is in Turkish or English, should be evaluated with sound decisions. Because we should not forget that each choice has different bring and take aways. For example, if they do not make their choices correctly; just because they will be out of the city, they may have to study a department they do not want, away from their families," he said.

Şimşek stated that there are 207 universities in Turkey.
"There are currently 207 universities in our country, and each of our universities has opportunities such as transportation and environmental diversity, together with its unique cultural and scientific structure, along with the benefits of the city in which it is located. Researching these opportunities will also help the university process to be healthy. Candidates must complete the preference lists they have created by taking the opinion of at least two preference consultants. It is very important for the candidates who will choose a university to take part in professions that are beneficial to our nation, especially equipped with the competencies of the age, in our country, which has turned to science and technology in the fields of production, defense and communication," he added.
