The industrialist, who became unable to work due to restrictions during the pandemic process, was trying to recover after the pandemic bans were left behind. The sector, which experienced this process negatively with the price hikes, returned to its troubled days with the 15% natural gas hike. Industrialists, who have become unable to profit from their work due to the increase in input costs, are afraid of being subjected to harsh words by government officials when they raise their products. Selman Esmerer, Chairman of the New World Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association (YENİAD), made statements to our newspaper and told about the problems experienced by the industrialists.

“YOU NEED TO REDUCE THE EXPENSES OF MANUFACTURING PEOPLE”

YENİAD Chairman Selman Esmerer, "Energy occupies a large place among the input costs of the industrialists. Natural gas has an important place in energy. When the cost of input increases, this is necessarily reflected in the prices. Mr. President says that the reason for the exorbitant prices is the markets. But as long as the input costs of the industrialists and farmers increase with these hikes, the market has nothing to do. As long as this continues, citizens will continue to see high prices in the markets. If you want to fight high prices, you need to reduce input costs and reduce the costs of people who produce," he said.

“A NEW HIKE CAME BEFORE INDUSTRY RECOVER ITSELF”

Esmerer stated that Turkey has entered the spiral of hikes and inflation, "It is necessary to keep the input costs stable for a while and not increase. If you do not do this, you will not be able to keep inflation. Here again, inflation has increased. Turkey has entered such a spiral. Increases are made, inflation is increasing. The pandemic period has already been quite difficult for the industrialist. Just when that period was over, the industry started to recover, the price hikes are coming. Raises from 1 percent per month suddenly come to 15 percent ruthlessly. When the cost of input increases, the industrialist raises the product he sells. The market is in the process of accepting this hike. Things are getting tough again," he added.
