Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT), shared his assessment of the inflation in August released by TurkStat previous day. Consumer prices increased by 2.30 percent in August and annual inflation increased by 2.05 percentage points to 17.90 percent. The Central Bank of Turkey said that inflationary pressure is the main driver of inflation. In the explanations, it is stated that the food inflation also increases a little depending on the negative course in the processed food group.
Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT), which shares high rate of increase in imports with high base commodities, said, "The strong upward trend in energy prices is expected to continue in September. In this period, general price increases were observed in service sector as well. Producer prices have pointed out that cost pressures are getting stronger. Under this outlook, annual inflation and core trend of core indicators have risen considerably."
