Consisting of 55 non-governmental organizations in Turkey, the Jerusalem Council held a meeting yesterday at Eresin Topkapı Hotel to emphasize the inviolability of Al-Masjid al-Aqsa on the anniversary of the events of the Gate of Mercy, to draw attention to the human rights violations in Jerusalem, especially in the Shaikh Jarrah Neighborhood, and to participate in the Jerusalem Week. held a press conference in order to make a call about the events to be held all over the world.
Abdullah Cahit Dinç, Chairman of the Executive Board of the Jerusalem Council, answered the questions of our newspaper after the press statement he made. Reacting to the visit of President Herzog of the invading Israeli regime to Turkey, Dinç expressed that they are against any kind of relationship with Israel.
“JERUSALEM IS THE CITY OF ISLAM”
Abdullah Cahit Dinç, Chairman of the Executive Board of the Jerusalem Council, stated in his press statement that Jerusalem is an Islamic city and Masjid al-Aqsa is a Muslim temple. Noting that there was intense pressure on the Jerusalemites for the Muslims to leave Jerusalem, "The occupying Israel, which ignores even the most basic human rights of the people of Jerusalem, is making a big mistake by assuming that no power in the world can hold it accountable," he said.
“A STEP TAKEN WITH ISRAEL WILL NOT BRING PEACE”
Abdullah Cahit Dinç, who answered the questions of the National Newspaper after the press release on the Jerusalem and Palestine agenda, spoke important words about the "normalization" process between Turkey and the Israeli regime.
Emphasizing that any kind of relationship with Israel is unacceptable, "We do not want the Herzog visit planned for the near future. Israel does not carry anything right in its bag. Israel brings nothing but sedition. We hope this visit will be cancelled. A step taken together with Israel will not bring any good," he added.
JERUSALEM WEEK STARTS ON 25 FEBRUARY
Abdullah Cahit Dinç also spoke about the Jerusalem Week, which will be realized between February 25 and March 4.
Dinç called on all relevant official and non-governmental institutions and organizations to celebrate Jerusalem Week and be in a spirit of solidarity with the aim of developing universal awareness about Jerusalem and spreading awareness of Jerusalem to all segments of society in Turkey and in the world.
Dinç also announced some activities to be held during the Jerusalem Week. Accordingly, during the Jerusalem Week, it was stated that the Declaration of Freedom for Jerusalem will be published, hall programs will be held, online conferences will be held, information events will be held, television and radio programs will be performed, and the Jerusalem march will be held.
