"Hak-İş" Confederation Chairman Mahmut Arslan, attending the 31st World Congress of the International Public Services Federation (PSI) held in Geneva, where more than 700 unions from 154 countries are members and represents 30 million employees, drew attention to the drama in Palestine.
Arslan strongly criticized the statements - HAMAS's brutal attacks on Israel, which killed over a thousand people, taking hostages and using them as human shields, are terrorist acts aimed at brutally affecting civilians - and made a counter speech, in the text of the decision No. 48 shared by the PSI General Secretariat as an emergency.
“NOT ONLY PALESTINIANS, BUT HUMANITY DYING IN GAZA”
"Unfortunately, human dignity is being murdered before our eyes. Today in Palestine there is no bread, no water, no electricity, no medicine, and even no air to breathe. There has been death, occupation, blood and tears in Palestine for 75 years. The Zionist State of Israel, disregarding international law, systematically commits genocide in front of the whole world. Not only Palestinians but humanity are dying in Gaza," Arslan said.
Arslan said, "Shame on those who stood by and watched the massacre and supported Israel's actions."
"Our world now needs normalization, peace, tranquility and justice. As Hak-İş and Hizmet-İş, we have become the conscience of the silent, silenced humanity as always. It is not possible to ensure peace and tranquility in the world until the occupation in Palestine ends, the embargo is lifted and the massacres stop. We want the UN Security Council to take action and international mechanisms such as NATO and the EU to say 'stop' to this dirty game," Arslan added.
“WE WILL SIDE WITH FREE PALESTINE UNTIL IT IS ESTABLISHED”
Arslan said, "We expect a voice from humanity and the entire union community against Israel, which has committed a clear war crime."
"To all responsible people in the world and in our country, to the entire international union community; We call on them to take more initiative to send humanitarian aid to Palestine. The Palestinian people should not be condemned to despair, hunger, poverty and death. We will continue to stand by the Palestinian people until the massacre is stopped and a free and independent State of Palestine is established," Arslan added.
