Felicity (Saadet) Party İzmir Provincial Presidency protested the high rate hikes in electricity and natural gas with an action.

In the action held in Konak Square, the effect of the price hikes on the budget and their pain were handled in a mise-en-scene.

People dressed in exorbitantly priced electricity and natural gas bills took part in the show, which symbolized a citizen who had been electrocuted with his hair, face and clothes.

In the mise-en-scène on display, the effect of the increased bills on the public was explained in a humorous but emphatic language.

"Not today's, 20 years of power bill", "Heating OUT, Shivering IN", "We wouldn't be paying that much money if we bought a power pole", "This government is burning too much!" Citizens in the surrounding area also showed great interest in the protest, in which written posters were carried.

After the statement of Saadet Party İzmir Provincial President Mustafa Erduran, members of the Saadet Party and many citizens marched in Kemeraltı Bazaar with the mise-en-scene.

“THE HIKES SHOULD BE TAKEN BACK”

Emphasizing that the small steps taken by the government will not extinguish this fire, Erduran from the Saadet Party, "First and foremost, the hikes in electricity, fuel and natural gas should be withdrawn. Value Added Tax should be removed from invoices. Electricity and natural gas should not be cut off for those who cannot pay their bills due to financial impossibility. The incomes of employees and retirees whose salaries are declining in the face of these prices should be increased to a level that will allow them to live humanely. A correct, consistent and national energy policy will be implemented under Saadet Party government. Energy, which is the basic need of our daily life; quality, cost, adequacy and continuity will be primarily ensured. Taxes and funds will be reduced in electricity and natural gas bills, which are basic needs," he said.
