Felicity (Saadet) Party Chairman Temel Karamollaoğlu paid a courtesy visit to Future (Gelecek) Party Chairman Ahmet Davutoğlu. After the meeting, which lasted for about two hours, the duo made statements in front of the members of the press. During the visit, Karamollaoğlu was accompanied by Saadet Party Spokesperson Birol Aydın and Vice Presidents Sabri Tekir and Cafer Güneş.

Karamollaoğlu noted that they exchanged views on solutions to the problems experienced in the country during the visit and stated that they will meet with other parties in the coming days.

Karamollaoğlu, answering the question of journalist that "how should a possible presidential candidate be?" Karamollaoglu said, "It is more reasonable to have a single candidate on which the opposition parties came together and formed an alliance. But in the end, most importantly, there must be a candidate that the community will choose and win in the first round. Elections cannot be held with a candidate that the public does not approve of."

“EFFICIENCY AND MERIT IMPORTANT”

Karamollaoğlu also answered the question about the dismissal of the TCDD General Manager, "For me, merit and competence are more important than procedure in appointments or changes. I look at whether the person who comes to a task is worthy of that task. However, until today, we have not witnessed that the government attaches importance to merit and competence," he added.

“WE SHOULD NOT IGNORE THE PAST IN RELATIONS WITH EGYPT”

Karamollaoğlu, who was also asked for his opinion on the re-started negotiations with Turkey and Egypt, "First of all, let me state that we find it beneficial for Turkey to improve its relations with Egypt. However, we should not forget how the leading government in Egypt came to power today. The administration took down Morsi with a military coup. In response, the Egyptian people showed their reaction. The mistake made here is the logic of ignoring the past, treating the Brotherhood as a terrorist, and showing the administration as very legitimate," Karamollaoglu said.

DAVUTOĞLU: “WE SHOULD COME TOGETHER”

Davutoğlu, who took the floor as the host, stated that the policies of the government were bankrupt.

"In such an environment, it is imperative that parties that promise a future for our country and our nation do not come together," he expressed his satisfaction with the visit.
