We have entered a period in which the doors of repentance are opened wide in the climate of Ramadan, whose beginning is mercy, whose middle is forgiveness, and whose end is liberation from hell.
In the month of Ramadan, which passed with great excitement and enthusiasm in the Islamic geography, Muslims begin Itikaf.
(Itikaf is an Islamic practice consisting of a period of staying in a mosque for a certain number of days, devoting oneself to ibadah during these days and staying away from worldly affairs.)
We talked to the Theologian Writer Prof. Dr. Cevat Akşit about the subject of 'itikaf', which is the sunnah of our Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).

“THE MONTH OF RAMADAN IS ALLAH'S BLESSINGS TO THE UMMAH”
We have reached the end of Ramadan, which Allah (SWT) has helped to save His servants from Hell. What is the wisdom behind the month of Ramadan being instrumental in the salvation of Muslims?
Actually, Ramadan is a grace of Allah (SWT) to the Ummah. Allah is always merciful and forgiving, but because He loves our Prophet Mohammad (pbuh) so much, we Muslims, who are his ummah, have special privileges. One of them is Ramadan. Compared to other months, if we earn a reward in Ramadan, 70 rewards are written, and if we perform a supererogatory act of worship, we are counted as having fulfilled an obligation. Many sins committed by Muslims throughout the year can be erased in Ramadan. For this, it is enough for us to spend a Ramadan with worship, surrender and sincerity. All these glad tidings and opportunities in the month of Ramadan are because, as we said, Allah loves our Prophet very much.
“THE LAST 10 DAYS HAVE A SPECIAL WARNING”
What would you say about the last period of Ramadan, which is a great opportunity for Muslims to be forgiven in all aspects, about the "liberation from Hell"?
In the last 10 days of Ramadan, our Prophet Mohammad (pbuh) said to his family members, "Let's try harder". Of course, the families of our Prophet Mohammad (pbuh) and our masters of the Companions showed special effort and special care for the month of Ramadan, but there is a special warning for the last 10 days. Our Prophet's request for a special effort is actually a message to us Muslims. We try to spend Ramadan as well as we can, but as the Ummah of our Prophet, we Muslims should heed this call. The end of this effort will be instrumental in our salvation from Hell with the good news of our Prophet Mohammad (pbuh). That's why we need to spend the last ten days of Ramadan with great effort in order to make good use of this opportunity. In the last ten days, we need to be more sensitive to our prayers and fasting, and we need to intensify our worship, we need to turn to Allah with our whole soul and our whole heart.
