While CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu underlined that kitchens have turned into places of fire due to rising prices, MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli expressed that the time has come for a final solution in Syria.
After a two-and-a-half-month vacation in the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM), CHP and MHP held their weekly group meetings. While CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu's agenda included ongoing discussions over the markets, especially the exorbitant price increases, MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli made evaluations about President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's visit to Russia.
KILIÇDAROĞLU: “WE LOAN WITH HIGH INTEREST”
Kılıçdaroğlu, referring to the increasing exorbitant prices, criticized President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's statements after the Agricultural Credit Market. Underlining that the citizens are crushed under their tax debts, Kılıçdaroğlu said, "They made your kitchen like this, and despite all these troubles, you pay taxes to the state, which they collect and pay to the loan sharks in London. They borrowed money abroad, didn't they? Other countries is borrowing with negative interest, we are borrowing with very high interest. The dollar-euro rose, what happened? In the first six months of 2021, our debt increased by 231 billion liras. We made new debt 60 billion liras, 171 billion liras of the increased debt of 260 billion liras comes from the exchange rate difference. The dollar has increased, our debt has increased. Who will pay for this? Will the gangs pay? Will those who invest money in billion-dollar companies in the Isle of Man and bring them to Turkey from there pay? No, the poor of this nation will pay the poor. All citizens need to hold Turkey to account through democratic means."
BAHÇELİ: "TIME FOR SOLUTION IN SYRIA"
Commenting on the summit of President Erdogan and Russian President Putin in Sochi, MHP Chairman Devlet Bahceli said:
"The Sochi summit kept the hopes of softening the sinister issues between Turkey and Russia alive. The time has come for a final solution in Syria. It is essential for Syrian refugees to return to their homes safely and for a realistic solution to flourish in Idlib."
