Felicity (Saadet) Party Konya Deputy and Youth Branch Chairman Abdulkadir Karaduman brought the problem of the subcontracted workers working in the General Directorate of Highways, who were not recruited despite being promised, to the agenda of the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM).
Karaduman, who submitted a question to the Presidency of the TBMM with the request of Vedat Bilgin, the Minister of Labor and Social Security, asked why the staff promise given to the workers in the General Directorate of Highways could not be fulfilled.
“SUBCONTRACTED WORKERS SHOULD BE STATED”
Karaduman stated that the promises made to the subcontracted workers working in the General Directorate of Highways were not fulfilled, and said, “Highways subcontracted workers were not included in the scope of the previous Decree No. 696 on the grounds of the phrase ‘consulting’. Although these workers do the same jobs as the permanent personnel working on the highways, they are forced to work without their personal rights. Arrangements should be made to remedy injustices by giving equal rights to employees who do equal work in our institutions. Subcontracted workers working on highways should be recruited.”
“WILL THE MINISTRY MAKE WORK ON WORKERS' PERSONAL RIGHTS?”
Karaduman asked Minister Bilgin the following questions:
“How many subcontracted workers have been recruited within the scope of Decree Law No. 696 so far?
How was the distribution of this number according to institutions?
What is the total number of subcontracted workers recruited while working within the General Directorate of Highways?
Are the rumors true that highway subcontracted workers do not receive a salary for 4 or 5 months?
What work do you do to eliminate such grievances?
Do you have any work on recruiting subcontracted workers who are not recruited due to various phrases and concepts?
Will you have any work in the upcoming period in order to give these workers their personal rights?”
