Saadet Party Women's Branch Chairwoman Ebru Asiltürk made a statement about the World Water Day.
Stating that water resources have dried up all over the world due to climate change, global warming, population increase and excessive environmental pollution, Asiltürk drew attention to the drying, pollution and depletion of water resources in her written assessment.

Asiltürk stated that 900 million people had great difficulty in accessing water, "meeting the water needs of the increasing population in an adequate and safe manner stands before us today as one of the most important problems. Our country is located in a semi-arid climate zone and the water shortage has reached serious proportions. According to the forecast of 100 million population in 2040, per capita water consumption will decrease from 1,400 cubic meters to minus 100 cubic meters, and we will be among the countries experiencing water stress," she said.

Asiltürk reminded that they had started the “Saving a Drop” project in order to use the water resources of the country efficiently and to save money, and stated that they also achieved successful results in these studies.
Pointing out that water resources should be used efficiently in all areas, Asiltürk, "saving water, especially making it a habit, is a very important step we can take for a safe future. We should know that only 12 liters of water is saved by shutting down unnecessary running water while brushing our teeth, and that preventing unnecessary water flow while washing our hands will save us 48 tons of water per year. Each of us can take great and important steps for our future with easy and simple 'water saving measures'," she added.
