At the congress, which was held for the third time this year, Shiite and Sunni scholars exchanged ideas on what should be done to strengthen Islamic brotherhood.
The main agenda of the congress, which was organized with the main theme of "Islamic Cooperation to Reach Common Values", was announced as strengthening scientific and cultural cooperation among Muslim communities.
Papers were presented with the subtitles "Peace not war, dialogue not terror, justice not exploitation, tolerance not oppression among Islamic schools, unity not takfirism".
At the congress, in which scholars from various fields such as the history of religions, sociology, tafsir, theology and philosophy presented papers, the possibility of common resistance against global exploitation was emphasized.
Emphasis was placed on cooperation in the fields of preventing Takfirism, resisting the violence that emerged in the regions where Muslims live, and joint struggle against Zionism and Crusader imperialism.
“ERBAKAN TURNED THE IDEAL OF ISLAMIC UNITY FROM THEORY TO PRACTICE”
Speaking at the opening of the congress, Hamdi Shahriarî, the President of Iran Takrib Institution, remembered Prof. Dr. Necmettin Erbakan with mercy as a guide who helped transform the ideal of Islamic Union from theory into practice.
Muhittin Hamdi Yıldırım, Member of the High Advisory Board of the Felicity Party, made a presentation titled "Alliance Principles in Islam".
Referring to the role of such congresses in the establishment of the Islamic Union, Yıldırım emphasized that the books of Alliance Etiquette should be replaced by the books of Conflict Etiquette.
“MUSLIMS SHOULD IGNORE SMALL DIFFERENCES”
Stating that historical problems among Muslims should not be brought to the agenda, Yıldırım pointed out that establishing the Islamic Union is a duty and that the late Necmettin Erbakan attaches great importance to such congresses and conferences.
Stating that they are walking in the same line as Muslims from Turkey, Yıldırım said that Zionism wants internal conflict between Muslims and therefore Muslims should look for ways to live together.
"Muslims should put their small differences aside and work with all their strength to strengthen cooperation among them," Yıldırım said.
