Former Presidenct of Religious Affairs Dr. Mehmet Görmez reacted to the scandalous statement made by the former president of France and 300 people accompanying him over demanding for removal some verses from the Qur'an.

Former Presidenct of Religious Affairs Dr. Mehmet Görmez reacted to the statement through his personal social media account.

The description of Görmez is as follows:

"Three ignorance in the so-called manifest in France":

First; Neither the Vatican Council nor any other documentary has been proposed to abolish the Christian sacred texts that refer to the Jewish hostility, as such a process has never been done.

Second ignorance: The Qur'an is not a book that orders the murder or punishment of Jews for neither Christians nor believers. It is inviolable because human beings are human beings.

Third ignorance: There is no church or council in Islam. Islam is not the authority and authority of religion. It is the book itself. No one can touch even a single letter of the Qur'an. This is the Book of Allah."

What happened?

In France, it was argued that some of the verses from the Qur'an had to be removed in a report published with the signatures of 300 former members, including former President Nicolas Sarkozy, three former prime ministers, representatives of the Jewish and Christian communities, and authors.

In the said declaration, the Qur'an was asked to "remove some of the verses" on the grounds that it violates anti-Semitic ideas.
