An official letter sent from "Memur-Sen" labour union to the Ministry of Treasury and Finance with a request for regulation regarding the income tax brackets of public officials.
While the Ministry received a negative response to the related article, Ali Yalçın, Chairman of Memur-Sen, said, "We will continue to insist and continue to follow the issue so that those with fixed income, especially our public officials, do not lose their income by entering the 20 percent slice in the middle of the year and 27 percent towards the end of the year."
The Memur-Sen Confederation had recently sent a letter to the Ministry of Treasury and Finance regarding the slices of income taxes taken from the salaries of civil servants, expressing their demands.
Despite the negative response of the ministry to the letter sent, Memur-Sen Chairman Ali Yalçın stated that his demands would continue.
FIXED INCOME LOSSES ARE SIGNIFICANT
Memur-Sen, with the letter sent to the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, requested a regulation against the income loss that the public employees will experience with their income tax payments.
"As of July 2022, with the interim increase in the minimum wage, tax exemption amounts have also increased, but due to the lack of regulation in tax brackets, fixed income people, especially our public officials, have experienced a substantial loss of income," it was said.
