When Hassan Al-Banna was martyred in the attack of the British and their native collaborators in Egypt, the date was February 12, 1949, which has been described as the month of martyrs.

In February, which has been described as the month of martyrdom, the prominent personalities, movement leaders, scholars and opinion leaders trained by the Islamic Ummah were targeted for their struggle against the oppressors.

Imam Hassan al-Banna is undoubtedly one of the most important characters of the Islamic youth who opened new horizons with his exemplary live and struggle. Along with his bitter struggle against the colonialists and their indigenous collaborators, Banna, who has carried out important works in order to establish the unity among the Muslims, lives as a great leader both in the hearts and in the struggling field of Islamic movements.

Hassan el Banna is a member of a deeply rooted family

Imam Hassan al-Banna, the founder of the Ikhwan al Muslimeen [Muslim Brotherhood], was martyred on February 12 by pharaohs of the time.

Hassan el Banna, who was born in Mahmudiye, Egypt, on 17 October 1906, is a member of a deeply rooted family. Hassan al Banna who graduated from the elementary and secondary school in his own town, established an organization in the middle third grade called the "morality and decency society" and sent letters to prominent figures and asked fight against evil and haram in society.

Hassan el Banna, who participated in demonstrations and boycotts against British exploitation and collaborators, enrolled in Daru'l-Ulum in Cairo for higher education after graduating from teaching school.

El Banna started teaching at a primary school in Ismailia after graduating from the University ranking first in class.

He spent many nights asleep

The presence of the colonialists inevitably influenced the indigenous people, and Western-style lifestyles were gradually becoming widespread in society. Hassan al Banna, who saw that the people were living away from Islam, spent many sleepless-nights and producing projects to find a solution.

Hassan al-Banna, while recounting his memories of this day, said: "God knows, we spent many nights in search of remedies for the Ummah. We've been thinking a lot about analyzing the state of the Ummah and removing their troubles. Sometimes we would cry from the influence of these situations."

He gathered together with six friends one night, who carries these concerns and worries and formed the "Muslim Brotherhood" organization.

They went to coffeehouses [teahouses] and began to explain the beauty and universality of Islam to the people who kill time there. Hassan al-Banna was talking about Allah and about the judgment day in his speech. Each speech was lasting 15 minutes maximum. This has slowly begun to stir up influence among the people.

The number of people coming to coffeehouses was increasing every day. After a while, he chose three big coffeehouses that he invited thousands of people to and gave speeches on a regular basis for two days in every week. While the attitude of people was strange at first, then people began to be interested in his speeches.

They were spending all their efforts to invite people to Islam.

The people embraced the Muslim Brotherhood with the help of God. The organization, which its members were increasing day by day, started inviting people to Islam by visiting villages and towns. They were spending all their efforts to invite people to Islam.

Imam was saying that no individual or town remain unaware of Islam.

In a short period of time, branches of the Ihvan organization, which has been developing greatly, started to be opened in various settlements, including Cairo.

In October 1932, the headquarters of the Muslim Brotherhood was moved to Cairo with the arrival of Al-Banna in Cairo and its branches were opened in Palestine, Syria, and Lebanon.

When the Palestinian people revolt against British exploitation, the Muslim Brotherhood stood with the Palestinian cause. Hassan Al-Banna sent letters to political leaders, opinion leaders, and rulers after the 1936 treaty against the Palestinians.

"The Palestinian question is a matter of the Ummah," said Al-Banna, who sent Mujahedeen to fight for Palestine.

The Egyptian government, a puppet of the colonial British, has declared the movement illegal in order to prevent and stop the Muslim Brotherhood and carry out the evil aspirations against the organization.

Later on, they started to obstruct the work of the organization and mobilized all the facilities to eliminate the organization under great pressure.

He was assassinated while going home and was martyred

The Egyptian state after capturing the members of the organization, and tortured them, put them in jails. They did not leave anyone outside to be with Imam Hassan Al-Banna, to protect him. Their aim was to leave Hassan Al Banna alone and assassinate him.

Hassan el Banna was assassinated on the evening of February 12, 1949, was martyred. In the largest square in Cairo, in a dark street with lights out, dirty and sold-out hands deceived by the useless and temporary text of the world martyred Imam Hassan Al-Banna, who devoted his life to Islam.

Imam Al-Banna, who had serious wounds, was not allowed to be interfered by doctors after he was rushed to the hospital. Thus, Imam Hassan Al-Banna, who left a great legacy to the future generations with his sacrificed life, was martyred.

The Muslim Brotherhood, founded by Imam, spread all over the world. The Muslim Brotherhood has raised many great scholars, such as Sayyid Qutb, Zeynep Al-Ghazali, and Abdulkadir Udeh. Ikhwan al Muslimeen also has laid the foundation of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement, HAMAS.
