Salih Turhan, Chairman of the Anatolian Youth Association (AGD) and the National Youth Foundation (MGV), called for the executions in Egypt to be stopped as soon as possible.

Turhan, who reacted to the unlawful decision taken by the Egyptian administration, said in a written statement, "Since 2013, when President Mohamed Morsi, who came to power in Egypt, was overthrown by a military coup, the Sisi administration has made Egypt an open prison for anyone who opposes the regime they established. In this process, thousands of civilians were arrested for political reasons, tortured and tried in military courts with fabricated files and without legal assistance."

DECISIONS WERE NOT MADE FAIRLY

Turhan stated that the trials in Egypt were carried out by military courts, not by civilian courts.

"Decisions made here are not fair decisions. Until this time, hundreds of people were sentenced to death and 91 of our brothers, including university students, were executed. Most of those sentenced to death are members of the Muslim Brotherhood, which supports Morsi. Finally, the death penalty was upheld for 12 people, including prominent political leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood organization such as Dr. Mohamad Beltagy. It is highly probable that the execution of the aforementioned death sentences will be carried out suddenly like the previous ones," Turhan said.

“STOP THESE OPPRESSIONS”

Turhan, who called on the leaders of Islamic countries to stop the executions, "We expect the leaders of Islamic countries, especially Turkey, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the D-8 to convene on this issue and take deterrent decisions and take actual steps to stop the executions in Egypt. As members of the Anatolian Youth Association, we wish Egypt to return to its prestigious position in the Islamic Ummah. Because these political execution decisions, the prestige of Egypt both in the Islamic geography and in the world is rapidly decreasing. Today, we say to the cruel Sisi Administration, stop these atrocities. Let them not forget that their cruelty cannot be eternal, evil will surely be defeated. No matter who is involved in any plan, a just order will definitely be established. Surely, the fate will be for the righteous," Turhan added.
