Mahmut Arslan, Chairman of "Hak-İş" Confederation, made a written statement on the occasion of the 62nd anniversary of the May 27, 1960 Military Coup.
In his statement, Arslan called for the prosecution of all coups and their perpetrators in the history of our country.
“HEAVY BILL OF THE COUPS IMPACTED TO THE WORKERS”
Arslan stated that the heaviest burden of the coups was incurred by the workers and the labor movement.
"At the end of the interventions to our democracy and political functioning, our country, fundamental rights and freedoms; economically, politically and socially backwards. Our workers, who have no capital other than their labor, suffer from economic and social rights and job losses as a result of antidemocratic interventions. In addition, in every coup period, our country has gone backwards and has lost its reputation in the international arena," Arslan said.
“WE WANT A UNITED TURKEY”
Stating that as Hak-İş Confederation, they are always against coups, Arslan said, "We condemn all kinds of attacks under the name of a coup or other attacks that target the unity and integrity of our country. We believe that we will get our rights in a democratic, developed and developed country today, as we did yesterday. We take a stand on the side of democracy, national will, people and freedom against all anti-democratic interventions against our democracy, without compromising our domestic and national stance. We want a Turkey where everyone lives in peace and stability, in an environment of peace and security, in unity and solidarity."
