After the meeting, Karamollaoğlu and Uysal held a joint press conference.

KARAMOLLAOĞLU: "THERE IS A NEED FOR MIND CHANGE"

Pointing out that a mentality change is needed before the constitutional change, Karamollaoğlu, "If they make a change proposal alone, it will not pass through the Assembly. The power should put aside the feeling of one-on-one. Just because he seems to be doing something doesn't mean he is doing something. His claims of this constitutional amendment, I think it is a step towards changing the agenda in Turkey. As a first step, the government needs to meet with the opposition," he said.

Democrat Party Chairman Gültekin Uysal visited Saadet Party leader Temel Karamollaoğlu. During the visit, which took place at the Saadet Party Headquarters, the meeting between the two leaders lasted an hour. Karamollaoğlu and Uysal, who made a joint press release after the meeting, also answered the questions of the journalists.

KARAMOLLAOĞLU: "DOUBLE STANDARD HAS BECOME RULE"

In his brief evaluation after the visit, Karamollaoğlu said that the inter-party negotiations were positive, reducing the polarization in politics. Karamollaoğlu thanked Uysal for the visit and expressed their satisfaction.

Karamollaoğlu responded to a question that the Covid-19 pandemic rules were not followed in the AK Party congresses, said that it has become a double standard rule in Turkey. When the power comes to its own business, it can follow a different path regarding the issues it suggests to others. This creates a different effect on the public conscience. He thinks it is more effective to talk to citizens face to face. But when it is reflected on the screens, the citizen says what a diet, this is what sauerkraut. I think they will take these into account over time and develop a policy without applying double standards.

UYSAL: "THEY LOSE ITS EXCLUSIVITY OF DISCOURSE"

Responding to the question regarding the new constitution debates, Uysal said: "Yesterday reform, today constitution, discourse have lost their dominance. They brought it up. Today we wonder what proposals the government will make in an arbitrary regime. In this sense, Turkey's need to take a deep breath. The agenda should be the consensus needed to bring Turkey's agenda."

UYSAL: "THE GOVERNMENT'S WORDS MUST MATCH"

Regarding the images experienced in AK Party congresses, Uysal, "While the masses are encouraged not to socialize, we watch the images in the congresses. That is why it is necessary to make a value judgment and to have the words of the rulers of the country to be answered. There is such a situation. The opposition lives in this process with common sense. We also see that there is a serious cost to our citizens and tradesmen. Measures must be implemented for this process to end quickly. Despite all the negativities, it must match the words of the government," he added.
