While the 10th Islamic Economics Workshop, organized by the ILKE Foundation Islamic Economics Research Center (IKAM), was completed recently, the winners of the "Islamic Economics Awards" were announced.
Prof. Dr. Khursid Ahmad, who wrote many books and articles in the field of Islamic economics, gave conferences and translated many works, was among the names who received the "Islamic Economics Awards".
Khursid Ahmad, who was awarded the "Award for Contribution to Islamic Economics", is known as one of the leading economists and politicians of the Islamic world.
A VERY FAMOUS POLITICIAN IN PAKISTAN
Prof. Dr. Kurshid Ahmad, one of the most prominent names in the Islamic economy worldwide; a thinker, activist, academic, politician and economist… Prof. Dr. Kurshid Ahmad, a world-renowned authority on Islamic economics, is mostly known for his work in this field. Known for his work in the field of modern Islamic economics, Ahmad was a member of the Jamaat-e-Islami and served as the vice president of the movement. Kurshid Ahmad came to Pakistan in 1947 from Delhi, where he was born in 1932. Ahmad, who is a very famous politician in Pakistan, also took office in the state level. Ahmad was appointed head of the 'Planning Commission', which was established to Islamize Pakistan's economy during the reign of former Pakistani President Mohammad Ziya ul Haq.

The basis of Kurshid Ahmad's views on the economy is anti-capitalism. Ahmad states that the solution to the problems created by capitalism is hidden in an Islamic understanding. Ahmad, who sees economics as a human science and considers the economy to be a complex activity, also examined the effects of people's sensitivities and feelings on economic activities.
WAS ONE OF THE FIRST FOUNDERS OF PARTICIPATION BANKING
Kurshid Ahmad, who made very important theoretical and practical contributions to the Islamic banking and financial system, was among the first founders of participation banking. Ahmad, who presided over many Islamic banking institutions, worked on how to establish interest-free banking. Struggling for the dominance of interest-free banking, Ahmad won the "King Faisal Award", the most prestigious award in the Islamic world, in 1990. Kurshid Ahmad is the only person in Pakistan to receive this award other than Mawdudi. On the other hand, Ahmad has also received the highest award, the "Order of Concession" by the Pakistani state.
WANTS THE POLITICAL SYSTEM TO BE BUILT IN AN ISLAMIC WAY
