Ramadan was born on us with all its blessings. It is also very important for Muslims to fully understand the month of Ramadan, which is given to the ummah as good news, as a gift, as a reward.
In this context, former Mufti of Vienna, Dr. Ramazan Yıldız answered our questions about making full use of the opportunity of Ramadan and gave information about what needs to be done this month.
Ramazan Yıldız Hodja, who also gave information about how the month of Ramadan was spent in Europe, gave advice to our readers.
"Ramadan fasting is a means of being cleansed from sins"
Our Prophet Mohammad (pbuh) says that a Muslim who spends the month of Ramadan in accordance with the Sunnah of the Prophet will be cleansed of all his sins. How can we Muslims spend a month of Ramadan that is completely in accordance with the sunnah and deserves forgiveness?
First of all, I would like to congratulate the employees and readers of Milli Gazete for the month of Ramadan. As you have stated, Ramadan fasting is a means of cleansing from sins. The Prophet Mohammad (pbuh) gives this glad tiding in a hadith as follows: "Whoever fasts during Ramadan by believing and expecting his reward from Allah, his past sins will be forgiven."
In addition, thanks to fasting, believers can attain the trait called taqwa, which means happiness in both worlds. A believer prays dhikr with his tongue and heart, by performing tarawih prayer before witr after nightfall, tahajjud when he gets up for sahur, reciting a small or a small amount of the Qur'an every day, donating to the poor and the poor as much as they can, preventing their limbs from making haram extortion. By keeping his mind busy with contemplation of Allah's power and by practicing i'tikaf in the last ten days of Ramadan, he will have spent a Ramadan in accordance with the sunnah and hope for forgiveness.
Can you tell our readers what a Muslim achieves by fasting?
Since there is no hypocrisy in the fasting worship, the fasting believer attains the pleasure of sincerity, that is, performing the worship only for the sake of Allah. More precisely, Allah bestows such joy on the heart of the fasting person that he forgets his hunger and thirst. Even if his body is on the ground, his soul rises towards perfection in the spiritual realm and becomes enchanted with spiritual feelings. That is, the spiritual is satiated and strengthened. The nafs, on the other hand, is simultaneously restrained by hunger. Thus, the command and command of his body is freed from the control of his nafs-i ammara. A person begins to fulfill Allah's orders with pleasure, stays away from haram, adopts moral values of the Qur'an, and attains Allah's approval.
“Muslims, unfortunately, are not taking advantage of this virtue enough”
Considering the hadith of our Prophet Mohammad (pbuh) regarding the month of Ramadan, "Ramadan is the month of my Ummah", do you think that Muslims today attach the necessary importance to Ramadan? What are your thoughts on this?
"If my ummah knew the virtues of Ramadan fasting, they would wish for the whole year to be Ramadan," says Prophet Mohammad (pbuh). Unfortunately, Muslims do not take advantage of this virtue. In the neighborhood where I live, it seems that there are more people who do not fast than those who do. This situation stems from the fact that the teachers, including me, do not carry out the obligatory orders of amr-i bi'l-maruf, nahy-i ani'l-munkar enough, the education system followed in our country is wrong, and the media organs work for corruption, not reform.
