Mayor Medigam of Rahat, one of the Israeli occupation units adjacent to the blockaded Gaza Strip, spoke to Israeli Army Radio about the situation in the city.
The local Israeli official noted that 19 Israelis died and dozens were injured in Rahat after HAMAS launched a comprehensive operation against Israel called "Al-Aqsa Flood" on the morning of October 7.
Pointing out that many missiles were fired into the region, Medigam blamed the Israeli administration for negligence towards the safety of civilians.
"We do not have public mobile shelters, the state abandoned us," he said.
In the city of Rahat, 35 kilometers from the Gaza border, the majority of the population is Israeli Bedouins.
