Abu Ghaith held a press conference with Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan after the 32nd Arab League Leaders Summit held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
At the meeting, questions were asked about the criticisms from the US and European countries regarding Syria's return to the Arab League after 12 years.
Emphasizing that Syria's return to the Union should be handled independently of the opinions of foreign powers, Abu Ghaith said, "This is an Arab issue. Syria is one of the 7 countries that founded the Arab League."
Abu Ghaith stated that they should carry out efforts to persuade other countries about the correctness of the method followed by the Arabs.
"This is the will of the Arabs. We are not seeking conflict or conflict with outside powers", he said.
The Arab League suspended Syria's membership on 12 November 2011 due to the civil war.
The foreign ministers of the member states of the Arab League agreed on the return of Syria to the Union at the Arab Foreign Ministers Meeting held in Cairo, the capital of Egypt, on 7 May.
