The increase in electricity prices, which ranges from 50 to 127 percent, endanger the health of hundreds of thousands of patients connected to the device at home.
Relatives of the patients who spoke to our newspaper stated that the state support of 200 TL given to them disappeared in the face of the price hikes.
"How will we pay the bills, which will be at least 700 TL? Does the government ever think of us whose health depends on electricity? Do they want to pull our plug?" relatives of the patients say.
With the new year, the exorbitant prices for energy and heating expenses doubled the livelihood of the citizens, and those who were most affected by these hikes were hundreds of thousands of citizens who received health services based on electricity at home.
In Turkey, there are hundreds of thousands of citizens connected to the device at home, especially COPD, SMA, ALS. Patients and their families, who use electricity intensively for 24 hours, started to think brooding after the increase in electricity, which changed between 50 and 127 percent.
Hundreds of thousands of patients and their relatives did not know what to do to pay the bills that would double or even triple their current bills.
NO RISE FOR SUPPORT GIVEN EXCEPT THE ELECTRICITY RISE
Relatives of patients who complain that the state support of 200 liras for patients who are connected to the device at home is also disappearing in the face of price hikes, "The state raised everything from needle to thread. However, there was no increase in the support of 200 liras paid to us. What should we do, should we unplug our mother, father, sibling, spouse, child? Otherwise, these hikes will pull the plug," relatives of patients say.
“DO THEY NEVER THINK OF US?”
Relatives of the patients who reported to our newspaper that the bills they paid before the price hikes were around 350-400 TL, "With the latest hikes, our bills will reach 700 TL even at the lowest usage. When we run the devices with full intensity, this bill will reach 1,200 liras. How are we going to pay these bills? Doesn't the government ever consider us when making such hike decisions? Do you ever think of it?" they added.
