President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced that President Yitzak Herzog of the Israeli regime will come to Turkey in mid-March.

Emphasizing that there will be "normalization" between Turkey and the Israeli regime in a previous statement, Erdoğan expressed that they have a win-win understanding in relations.

While President Erdogan's words about the occupying Israeli regime fell like a bomb on the agenda, there are many questions in mind regarding the issue.

While International Relations Specialist Celaleddin Duran and Middle East Researcher Dr. Selim Sezer made very important statements to the Milli Gazete, many questions in mind were answered.

“WHY DOES TURKEY FEEL THE NEED TO INCREASE COOPERATION WITH ISRAEL?”

Saying that Turkish foreign policy is based on some interests, national interests and basic political principles, Celaleddin Duran noted that Turkey wants to realize the process of change that it carries out with all the countries in the region, also with Israel.

"Turkey needs such a normalization in order to radically change its long-standing policy in the region and re-establish all its troubled relations. But soon we will see that Israel is insecure, unstable and no longer a strong actor in the region. With the last Jerusalem sword war, Israeli patronage ended in the region," he said.

“THE ECONOMIC COOPERATION FLOOR IS PLANNED TO DEVELOP”

Middle East Researcher Dr. Selim Sezer stated that due to Turkey's position in the international system, an indefinite crisis with Israel would not be possible, and that the approaching normalization and cooperation constitute the main ground.

Noting that he thinks that two more concrete reasons push Turkey to "normalize" with the Israeli regime, "The first is the Eastern Mediterranean and natural gas issue, which has been one of the most important issues of Turkish foreign policy for a while and will continue to be important for a long time. This was the main reason for the normalization process that started with Egypt. Ankara does not want to be left out of gas projects and therefore wants to keep on good terms with both Egypt and Israel. As a second reason, we can say that it is desired to increase regional partners in the conditions of the economic crisis, which is increasing its weight more and more. This was also the reason why there has been an almost one hundred and eighty degree turn in relations with the United Arab Emirates recently. It is also planned to develop a basis for economic cooperation with Israel, which will probably go beyond natural gas projects," he said.

"WHAT WILL BE ISRAEL'S MOVE WITH HERZOG'S VISIT?"

Speaking to the National Newspaper, Celaleddin Duran stated that the occupying Israeli regime lost its regional charisma and security with the "Battle of the Sword of Jerusalem", and also revealed all the instability, turmoil and intergroup conflicts in its domestic politics.

Duran, on the subject, "Israel has increased its cost for the West and has become a burden that is difficult to bear. It is planning a visit to fix this bad image and rebuild their friendship. Let's not forget that now there is a needy Israel. During this visit, the Eastern Mediterranean, Syria, Egypt and HAMAS files will probably be on the table. However, it is not possible for Turkey to agree with Israel in any of them. Israel is an insecure and powerless country," he added.

“TURKEY MAY BE PART OF THE ISRAEL-GULF AXIS”

Noting that Israel's policy in the region proceeds on two grounds, Dr. Selim Sezer, these two floors, "On the one hand, to contain Iran and its allies, on the other hand, to smooth out the conflicts between them and countries with which they are not in antagonistic opposition. It is too early to say anything about whether Turkey will be willing to take an anti-Iranian line after Herzog's Ankara visit. However, Turkey's normalization of its relations with both Gulf countries and Israel means that it can be a part of this axis, or at least work in harmony with it," he added.
