Answering the questions of the journalists after the iftar program, the Iranian Ambassador said that the relations between the two countries have moved to an advanced level and opposed the recent refugee influx allegations.

Iranian Ambassador Farazmand spoke to our Ankara Representative Mustafa Yılmaz. Iran's Ambassador to Ankara Muhammed Farazmand met with press members at an iftar dinner. Farazmand answered the questions of the journalists after the iftar program held in the embassy building. 
 

DENIED THE CLAIMS 

 
In a statement, Ambassador Farazmand denied the recent influx of refugees across the border. Ambassador Farazmand stated that there were some small-scale crossings on the border line, but they were also largely blocked, and that there was never a crossing in the form of a raid. Ambassador Farazmand also said that the number of Afghan immigrants has decreased gradually, especially after the change of administration in Afghanistan, and that the authorities of both countries hold meetings on the border line every week. Ambassador added that the border between the two countries has been the most reliable border line for centuries. 
 

TURKEY HAS ALWAYS BEEN WITH US AGAINST SANCTIONS 

 
Farazmand also touched on the issue of US sanctions on Iran for years and said that Turkey always supports them in this regard. The Ambassador stated that Turkey stands by Iran on the sanctions issue, demonstrating this both in discourse and in action. 
 

REACTION TO THE WEST'S VIEW OF ISRAEL 

 
Farazmand, who also condemned the massacre against Muslims as a result of the actions of Israeli extremists during the holy month of Ramadan, said that Masjid al-Aqsa was entered with a military boot and this happened in front of the whole world. Farazmand said that Western countries remained silent on this issue and noted that the sensitivity they showed towards Ukraine was seen by everyone. 
 

ERDOGAN MAY VISIT IRAN IN SUMMER 

 
Stating that the relations between the two countries are developing more and more each day, Ambassador Farazmand said that the Astana process in Syria has slowed down a bit due to the pandemic, but the process is working. Farazmand also said that President Erdogan may visit Tehran in the next few months. He also said that many agreements will be signed in many fields.
