Felicity (Saadet) Party Konya Deputy and Head of Youth Branch Abdulkadir Karaduman evaluated the issues on the agenda at the press conference he held in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.

Karaduman started his speech by commemorating Ahmet Çalık from Konyaspor who lost his life in a traffic accident.

"We buried our brother, who set an example with his mastery and benevolence, at a young age, may his place be heaven," Karaduman said.

Karaduman underlined that "cost of living" should be discussed as a priority agenda today.

"The most basic needs; We see that the cost of living is increasing day by day with the hikes in items such as water, electricity, natural gas and transportation. Today, it has become extremely difficult for a father to meet the basic needs of his children, for a farmer to produce in the field, for a tradesman to run his shop, for a student to continue his education. Today, there are some regulations that need to be made urgently, especially in the tax field; Value Added Tax on electricity, natural gas and water used by households should be abolished," Karaduman added.

“CITIZENS BECOME VICTIMS DUE TO HIGH HIKES”

Karaduman stated that the hikes in electricity and natural gas have bent the back of the citizens.

"It should not be waited for the end of the winter season to help the citizens who are aggrieved by the hasty hikes in electricity and natural gas, and aid should be made before March. Inspections should be tightened to prevent arbitrary practices by energy distribution companies. We expect the necessary measures and sanctions to be brought against those who defraud the citizens by delaying the meter readings by 1-2 days and cutting the bill with an increase of 127 percent. Basic input items such as fertilizer, diesel, electricity and water used by our farmers should be exempt from tax. In addition to tax exemption, support should be provided for our farmers to be able to produce. Feed support should be provided to our breeders," he said.

“SOLUTIONS ALSO WORK SLOWLY”

Karaduman stated that the government has seen the voters of Konya as a piece of cake for years and said, "After all, with the approach that we get what we get from Konya, investments to be made in Konya are progressing slowly. When we look at the budget allocated for the works to be carried out in Konya for 2022, we can clearly see this. Today, Konya faces a serious drought threat. Existing water resources are insufficient, especially in agricultural irrigation. Groundwater reserves have come to an end, and the energy costs spent to make use of groundwater put our farmers in a difficult situation. As a result of meeting the water need with groundwater, potholes are formed in many points of our Konya. However, other projects that will solve the irrigation problem are proceeding at a slow pace."
