President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Ersin Tatar stated that the issue of a two-state solution they defended in the Cyprus issue was also on the agenda in the Greek Cypriot side, and said "We are on the right path".
The President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Tatar met with the heads of political parties represented in the Assembly of the Republic at his Presidency.
Making a statement after the meeting, Tatar said that Cyprus talks and other issues were discussed at the meeting. President-elect after the Tatars, indicating that the various contacts on the Cyprus issue, the United Nations (UN) and Turkey with the opinion that they are reminded that they made various consultations.
Tatar stated that they are working in harmony with Turkey and that the developments in the Eastern Mediterranean have increased the power of the TRNC in the region, and emphasized that it will be for everyone to reach a compromise in Cyprus that will benefit everyone in the region.
Stating that the issue of a two-state solution in Cyprus is also on the agenda in the Greek Cypriot side, Tatar said, “We are on the right track, we see that an important stage has been reached in protecting the rights and interests of the Turkish Cypriot people. After the 5+1 meeting, the situation should be re-evaluated”.
