Butchers also complain about meat prices going downhill…

While the butchers cannot make sense of the recent rise in meat prices, the citizens have now turned to buying in Lira terms.

The butchers said that the citizens now entered the butcher's shop by saying, "Give me chicken by 100 liras, 200 liras".

Stating that chicken meat is also raised three times in a week, the tradesman summarizes the situation by saying, "We don't know where we are going right now, there is still a raise."

“WE HAVE AN EXTREME RISE, OUR SALES DECREASED”

The highest price increase in March was for beef with 19.90 percent.

The "unstoppable increase" in meat prices, especially red meat, causes reactions from butchers as well as citizens.

Even according to TUIK data, the price of red meat has increased by 60 percent in three months, and the butchers cannot understand the rise.

“Meat prices will rise more in the coming days”

Hakan Darılmaz, who works as a butcher in Aksaray, stated that the citizens can no longer buy meat.

"This is due to the lack of production. As long as we do not produce, meat prices will rise more in the coming days. We can't get out of it, let it stop this time. As the price of this meat increased, our sales decreased a lot," he said.

“MOST BUTCHERS LEFT THE JOB”

Stating that the increase in white meat has started, Darılmaz continued as follows:

"A raise has been coming for a week, it has been raised three times. We will probably eat the chicken for 75 liras this year. The wing will probably be around 100-150. Where we are going, we do not know right now, there is still a raise. It is said that after fasting, the carcass will be 230 liras. Now this is a great danger for us. We are thinking, 'I wonder if we should quit this job'. Most of our butcher friends have them for sale. If you buy an animal of 350-400 kilos, it costs 75-80 thousand liras. Not every butcher can afford this. It's about the budget, I guess the butcher thing will be a thing of the past. This job will probably be left to the shopping malls."
