The Uyghurs, whose petitions are not received and accused of lying without any evidence, want to be with them.
Speaking to our newspaper about their life, Jevlan Shirmehmet, one of the oppressed Uighurs, "We demand that our voices be given a voice. East Turkistan has such an expectation from the Turkish people. Be with us both in social media and in events," he said.
Uighur Turks, who have been on guard in front of China's consulate general in Istanbul with the hope that good news will come from their families, whom they have not been informed about for a long time, are waiting for news that will please them.
The Uyghurs, who have been on duty since December 2020, except for certain intervals due to prohibitions, demand that the people of Turkey be with them.
The victims emphasize that the silence is painful as they want them to stand against the atrocities in East Turkistan.
PETITIONS STILL NOT RECEIVED
Jevlan Shirmehmet, one of the names who held the watch in front of China's consulate general in Istanbul, told our newspaper about the process of his protests.
Noting that they were invited by the governorship in the first period of their action and the Consulate General of China told them that their petitions would be taken from them, Shirmehmet stated that their petitions are still not accepted.
Shirmehmet, on the subject, "We were called by the governor's office and told us that our petitions would be accepted by the Chinese Consulate. After this situation, we prepared our petitions as Uyghurs who could not hear from their families. Within a week, more than five thousand people submitted petitions. We wanted to submit the prepared petitions to the Consulate General of China in Istanbul on January 27, but they were not accepted," he said.
Victim Uygur Jevlan Shirmehmet stated that they have already exceeded one hundred during the watch they started with twelve people.
Shirmehmet said that they had to suspend their actions due to the pandemic bans and that they resumed their seizure as of May 17, when the bans were lifted, and that their actions are currently continuing.
Expressing that China tried to deny themselves by making propaganda while they were on guard for their families, Shirmehmet, "We say that if you deny us, put forward evidence. We are looking for our family. We are looking for our parents. Come on, get our parents out there and show them where they are. We say do not accuse us of lying, deny us with evidence," he added.
"WE WANT THEM TO BE WITH US"
Speaking to the Milli Gazete, Jevlan Shirmehmet also called the people of Turkey.
Noting that there was a genocide in East Turkistan, Shirmehmet reminded that the parliaments of many countries acknowledge that there was genocide in East Turkistan.
Despite this, Jevlan Shirmehmet emphasized that the silence in the Turkish and Islamic world was painful and demanded that their voices be given a voice.
In his statement, Shirmehmet also pointed out that the products made in China should be boycotted.
"There is really a genocide happening in East Turkistan. There is a human tragedy there. There is an incredible cruelty. There are reports published on this subject. Parliaments of many countries acknowledged that there was genocide in East Turkistan. Despite such a situation, the Turkish world is silent, the Islamic world is silent. We want this from the people of Turkey. We want to be with us. We demand that our voices be given a voice. East Turkistan has such an expectation from the Turkish people. Be with us both in social media and in events. It should not be forgotten that the products made in China have the blood of the people of East Turkestan. Every product made in China has the blood of Uyghur Turks employed by China as slave labor. This should not be forgotten," Shirmehmet added.
