In Afghanistan, the Taliban took over the capital Kabul 20 years later. President Ashraf Ghani left the country after the Taliban forces entered the outskirts of the city. The Taliban, who entered the city center without encountering any resistance, also took control of the Presidential Palace. There was a huge crowd at Kabul Airport. After these developments, while the concerns of "Will there be a new wave of migration in Turkey" increased, the Deputy Chairman of the Felicity (Saadet) Party Mustafa Kaya made important evaluations.

“REASONABLE STEPS MUST BE TAKEN”

Expressing that the Taliban's takeover of a large part of Afghanistan is a development expected by everyone, and that many countries, including global powers, are positioned accordingly, Kaya stated that the talks with the United States regarding the Kabul Airport are currently in vain.

Kaya pointed out that Turkey should not make the same mistake it made in Syria in the Afghanistan issue.

"In order for Turkey to continue its existence in the region, it needs to find new formulas shaped by its own will. Iran is following the developments closely. The United States, China, and the Taliban were interlocutors. Russia said there was no question of moving its embassy from Afghanistan. In order to contribute to the peace in the region and the future of Afghanistan, Turkey must exhibit a more reasonable and restrained approach instead of an ideological evaluation. We hope that every development that will occur after this moment will contribute to the peace, tranquility and welfare of the Afghan people," Kaya said.

“WE CANNOT HANDLE A NEW WAVE OF MIGRATION”

Emphasizing that the main goal in the region is to preserve peace and tranquility, Kaya underlined that Turkey will not be able to handle another wave of migration, "Turkey should immediately take concrete steps to prevent irregular migration. The arrival of people in Turkey after crossing a distance of 2,400 kilometers may be a great threat to the demographic structure of our country. Accepting that everyone comes to Turkey only for fear of life and economic reasons is actually contrary to the ordinary flow of life. There will also be those who come to Turkey for different purposes during such critical processes. It is necessary to create a systematic and predictable roadmap in this regard. It's about 3 million people. In fact, it is stated that 5-6 million people are preparing to immigrate from Afghanistan today. A new wave of immigration would be a major threat to Turkey," he aded.
