The resistance continues in Palestine, where terrorist Israel has increased its repression and occupation policies. Press Spokesperson of HAMAS, the important organization of the Palestinian resistance, which gives the occupation regime fearful moments despite all kinds of impossibilities. Dr. Sami Ebu Zuhri answered our questions. Answering many questions from the Sword of Jerusalem operation to the relations with Palestine-Egypt, Zuhri called on Muslims to be united.
RESISTANCE IS A EQUIPPED PROJECT
Operation Sword of Jerusalem was recorded as an important point in the history of the resistance. As a result of this operation, we see that the strength of the Palestinian resistance in deterrence has increased significantly. How did the Palestinian resistance achieve this and what more should we expect?
For HAMAS, resistance is not just a weapon. Resistance is building a community that starts with preparing the soldier to fight and preparing a society that believes in and embraces resistance, providing support and support, and providing a regional environment. At the beginning of this support are weapons and financial means. In this context, HAMAS was preparing for this moment before. The beginnings were simple, with a few pistols or rifles under the supervision of Sheikh Ahmed Yasin. Then, rockets that reached very small distances emerged, then these domestic-made rockets started to develop today and reached 250 km. These missiles are domestic and national rockets. With the obstacles imposed by the occupation, we do not expect any process for weapons to reach Gaza today, this is what developed the production of weapons in Gaza. This is overseen by the production unit in Al-Qassam, which works around the clock to carry out production and development work. Today, with the help of Allah and the sacrifice of the resistance, we have reached this level. Of course, this weapon has no value without the presence of Palestinian youth who love their homeland and are ready for sacrifice and martyrdom. Therefore, the existence of the young mujahideen, their breeders, their upbringing and development, their constant work and will have contributed to the resistance to this stage. Therefore, when we talk about resistance, we are not only talking about talent and strength, but we are talking about a well-equipped project with different aspects.
WE ALL SHOULD COLLABORATE TO PROTECT THE CITY OF JERUSALEM
We see that Israel has accelerated the Judaization of Jerusalem. What is the roadmap for the Palestinian resistance to block the ambitions for Jerusalem?
The Israeli occupation is trying to exploit the normalization agreements with some Arab governments and take advantage of the weak position of the Arabs and the weak position of the Palestinian administration to liquidate and Judaise the Islamic right in the city of Jerusalem. The most dangerous thing is not the Judaization of the city, but the Judaization of the Masjid al-Aqsa and its conversion into a synagogue. In this context, Israel's attempts at the end of Ramadan and all previous attempts were aimed. The basic policy of the Palestinian resistance is to protect Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque, but the conflict is not limited to weapons. Conflict has multiple and cascading forms; It includes the confrontation of our people and the constant gathering of our people in the 48 lands of Jerusalem and the West Bank and the occupied territories in Masjid al-Aqsa and mobilizing them against all kinds of attacks and to use weapons when necessary. As in the last war, we will not hesitate to do so. However, we should also point out that; Jerusalem is not just the city of Palestinians, it is the city of all Muslims. Therefore, protecting the city is the responsibility of all the children of this nation, all with their abilities and positions. Whatever we are, whether the media plays a political or financial role, we must all cooperate to protect the city of Jerusalem.
What would you say about Egypt's role in the Palestinian-Israeli struggle? Did they play an important role in the final truce?
As for relations with Egypt, we believe and affirm that, as the owners of the Palestinian cause, we have good relations with all Arab and Islamic countries. The real hostility is only with the Israeli occupation. As for our people and our nation's sons, it is natural that we have good relations with them, however, in practice, the Egyptian-Palestinian relationship is a historical one. There is a relationship of borders and geography, a relationship of history and blood, and historically Egypt was the first person in the League of Arab States to oversee the Palestinian file. That's why the relationship between Palestine and Egypt is a big and important one and we are in favor of maintaining a good relationship. There are good and continuous contacts between HAMAS and the Egyptian intelligence service. During the last war, Egypt was a party to an agreement between the resistance and the Israeli occupation, and there are constant contacts between HAMAS and Cairo on this issue.
EXCAVATIONS IN AQSA ARE VERY DANGEROUS
Could you tell us about the excavations under the Masjid al-Aqsa? What should we do to prevent these attacks?
The Israeli occupation is targeting Al-Aqsa Mosque to turn it into a synagogue, and there are many ways to do that, including limiting and reducing the entry of worshipers to Al-Aqsa Mosque. This is to control the movement of Muslim worshipers to the mosque, including making decisions to deport both female and male activists, controlling the mosque's keys and door keys, closing many of the mosque's doors. This includes the issue of numerous and continuous excavations under the mosque. These digs are very dangerous. We are talking about tunnels and wide streets, we are talking about markets, we are talking about museums, we are talking about Israeli transport routes. This means that in any strong earthquake, Masjid al-Aqsa is a candidate for collapse. Our duty, as the peoples and the media, is to expose these crimes, to raise awareness of these dangers and to create a world public opinion about what the occupation did to Al-Aqsa Mosque.
BY GOD'S PERMISSION, WE WILL SUCCESS TO OVERCOME THE OBSTACLES
There have been elections within HAMAS recently. Halid Meshal was elected as the foreign leader. What does it mean?
The HAMAS movement believes in the practice of consultation and democratic work in managing and regulating its internal situation. Therefore, HAMAS is the only Palestinian movement that holds periodic elections every four years and does not interrupt or delay these elections under any circumstances. Palestine is paying attention to this issue despite its harsh conditions and situation. There are main areas of the movement, these are: There are HAAS officers outside Gaza, the West Bank and Palestine. Chief among these is the political bureau presidency. Ismail Heniye is at its head, Halid Meshal is at the head of HAMAS abroad, Salih Aruri in the West Bank and Yahya Sinvar in Gaza.
The West Bank is a very critical area. Saleh al-Aruri was appointed as the West Bank leader of HAMAS in the elections. How should we read this development? Could resistance flare up in the West Bank?
Regarding the West Bank, we are aware that the strategic area of conflict at this stage is the West Bank, so we should focus as much as possible on the Palestinian resistance in the West Bank. Unfortunately, in the West Bank, the security forces under Mahmoud Abbas' authority have a bad role to play in trying to suppress the resistance and arrest groups preparing for resistance action. The people that the authorities cannot arrest give their information to the authorities and the occupation arrests them. This dual role between the authorities and the Israeli occupation, by arresting the resistance fighters, nullifies and blocks the operations of the resistance and pursues the resistance fighters who manage to carry out the resistance actions. We see this as a temporary situation and it is natural that an occupied people will resist this occupation and, by Allah's leave, will succeed in overcoming the obstacles brought by the occupation or the Palestinian Authority's security apparatus.
