"What I'm trying to say is, AK Party's 49 percent vote, we're talking about a party that has dropped to 35. We have to strive. The voter is the boss," Meral Akşener, Chairman of the IYI Party says..

When asked about Ata Alliance's presidential candidate Sinan Ogan's statement that he would support the People's Alliance, Akşener said that she did not find the right to make a positive or negative assessment on this issue, and that this assessment would be made by the voters who voted for Ogan.

Akşener wished success to Oğan, stating that she respected his personal decision and expressed that she did not think that the voters who voted for him would support President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Upon the question, Akşener said that she was not surprised that Ogan supported President Erdogan.

“THEN COMMON SENSE WILL RULE TURKEY”

Expressing that the Nation Alliance does not see the vote rate as a failure in terms of the Presidential Election, Akşener said, "In the People's Alliance, the AK Party fell into the game in 2002. For the first time in 21 years. Mr. Erdogan is in the second round. Against this, they took the Assembly. This may also bring a benefit for Türkiye. As the Nation Alliance, I believe that we can elect Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu. When the legislature is in the People's Alliance and the executive is in the Nation Alliance, both balance and control come into play, and we begin to question the concept of a president with infinite powers. I claim that then common sense will dominate Turkey and there will be a transition to the parliamentary system with the 'yes' votes of all parties, without the need for a referendum in the Parliament. Due to this balance, the election of Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu as president is in favor of the electorate."

“VOTER IS THE BOSS”

Akşener said that if they lose the election, the presidential system cannot be discussed again.

"We must change that. Maybe it was a chance. When we get Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu elected, we can change this system, including the AK Party. I've seen families say they haven't bought meat for two months. We had to talk about this. Those families do not say to me, 'Are you from HDP, is there HDP at the table, are you from PKK?' What I'm trying to say is, I'm talking about the 49's, the party game, we're talking about a build that has dropped to 35. We have to strive. The voter is the boss. It's our job to convince the electorate. We have a deficiency, we are trying to complete it," Akşener said.

“NOW THE SUBJECT IS SIMPLER”

Akşener stated that both sides will start the race from scratch in the second round.

"Potential voters are about 12 million, they did not go to the polls, became invalid, remained idle, but the difference is 2.5 million. We're starting from scratch. There is no confusion either. Only 2 people will be asked to vote. The People's Alliance wants Mr. Erdogan, we want Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu. Now it has become simpler, the subject has become simpler. He got angry, he got offended, it happened, the IYI Party did this, the CHP acted like that, it happened that way or for the other side, none of these are valid. Since the difference is a figure of 2.5 million, to provide this job with one-to-one contact. We had rallies, now it's time to touch the individual. You have to ring the doorbell", Akşener added.
