27 years have passed since February 28, one of the dark periods in Turkish political history. "Hak-İş" Chairman Mahmut Arslan, who published a written statement regarding the coup, said, "As the "Hak-İş" Confederation, we reject all anti-democratic interventions disguised as coups, memorandums and other disguises today, as in our 48-year honorable history. On the 27th anniversary of the February 28 coup, we condemn all anti-democratic interventions with hatred."
“WE STRONGLY CONDEMN THOSE WHO USE SUCH ROADS”
Stating that they condemn all anti-democratic interventions with hatred, Arslan said, "As Hak-İş Confederation, we condemn all anti-democratic interventions on the 27th anniversary of the February 28 coup. As Hak-İş, today, as in our 48-year honorable history, we reject all anti-democratic interventions disguised as coups, memorandums and other disguises. We strongly condemn those who resort to such methods."
“THE FEBRUARY 28 COUP HAS NOT BEEN COMPLETELY ACCOUNTED FOR”
Stating that February 28 is a black mark in history, Arslan underlined that those responsible for February 28 have not been held fully accountable.
"Unfortunately, the use of unions in the February 28 coup went down in our union history as a great shame. Since all segments, institutions and actors who supported the February 28 coup were not held accountable before the judiciary, the February 28 coup has not been fully reckoned with. This situation still continues to worry us for the future of our democracy," Arslan added.
