The presentations of the ministries were heard at the İliç Research Commission established in the Turkish Grand National Assembly regarding the mining disaster in Erzincan's İliç district.

Speaking about the commission, Saadet Party Ankara Deputy Mesut Doğan stated that the presentations of the ministries imply that no one is guilty or responsible.

After listening to our 3 ministries, we all saw dangerous gaps in the legislation. One of the fundamental duties of our state is to protect the lives of its people.

The ministries made their presentations to the İliç Mine Accident Investigation Commission established in the Turkish Grand National Assembly regarding the disaster in which 9 workers remained underground in the Çöpler Gold Mine in Erzincan's İliç district.

Making statements about the presentations made in the commission, Saadet Party Ankara Deputy Mesut Doğan reacted to the presentations made by the ministries and underlined that the state should protect its citizens.

Pointing out that in the presentations made by the ministries, it is explained as if there is no responsibility and crime, Doğan stated that the ministries' deficits are revealed in their presentations, and said, "After listening to our ministries, we all saw dangerous gaps in the legislation. In our civilization, one of the five basic duties of the state towards its people is to protect human lives. The state will protect the lives of its people everywhere. I don't think it's smart for him to pass the buck even though he conveyed the duty of protection at the workplace to the state legal entity Ministry of Labor and Social Security. We see that even the area that is said to be not our area has areas in the second article of the labor law."

“IS THIS PROFIT WORTH THIS RISK?”

Drawing attention to the profits obtained from the mine, Doğan stated that the income obtained by the state from production in 12 years was 84.8 million dollars.

"When we look at the income from production, we earned 7 million dollars annually. 7 million dollars annually means 249 million lira in today's value. That means we earn 627 thousand liras per day. Our earnings there correspond to only 1.5 hours of the annual interest paid by the Republic of Turkey. Is this gain worth this much risk?" Doğan said.
