Saadet Party Chairman Temel Karamollaoğlu met with Ankara representatives of the press and media organizations at breakfast.
At the meeting held at the party headquarters, Karamollaoğlu answered journalists' questions.
“HAMAS DEFENDS ITS LAND”
Pointing out that the value judgments in the world public opinion changed after Israel's attacks on Gaza, Karamollaoğlu said that those who focus on human rights in Ukraine ignored these value judgments in Gaza.
"Israel occupied Palestinian lands. Israel did not and does not comply with any rules when it has the USA and the West behind it. When the United Nations did not take a serious stand, the people there began to defend their rights. When Israel declared the Palestinians illegitimate, the Palestinian people claimed their own land. Israel claims Palestinian territory as its own. They tell Palestinians to go away. HAMAS has been in those lands for hundreds of years. HAMAS is defending its territory. This is how I see HAMAS, I do not see HAMAS as a terrorist organization. Erdoğan also expressed this; This is the basis," Karamollaoğlu said.
“THE GOVERNMENT DOES NOT HOLD RALLIES, IT DOES EXECUTION”
Referring to the AK Party's organization of a rally in Istanbul regarding Gaza, Karamollaoğlu said, "I find it strange that the AK Party is organizing a rally in Istanbul. They are organizing a show. The ruling parties do not hold rallies, the people hold rallies. President Erdoğan is showing his power by saying that we are organizing this rally. Governments do not hold rallies, they carry out actions."
Karamollaoğlu also stated that there was no invitation from the AK Party regarding the rally.
“THE ECONOMY HAS BECOME DAMAGED”
Answering questions about the economy, Karamollaoğlu continued as follows:
"President Erdoğan is in trouble with the economy, the economy has been destroyed. The stitches do not hold. There is a serious change in economic conditions. They do not have the power to prevent the bad situation in the economy. Now, they say, let's avoid waste. Turkey's number one issue in the economy is waste. President Erdoğan once said, 'There is no saving on reputation.' Now, he has come to the same point. The savings we understand and his are different. Unnecessary expenses are being made. Unnecessary investment is also considered unnecessary. You are building an airport, a plane lands once a year. This is unnecessary."
“KÜRECİK NEEDS TO BE CLOSED”
Stating that the USA implements radical policies, Karamollaoğlu said, "Firing Gaza is the worst thing the USA could do. The USA allows and supports the massacre of people in Gaza. Biden 'implies that HAMAS carried out Israel's hospital bombing.' Could it be this much nonsense! Because they have closed one of their eyes and are looking at the situation from one side. They support the Israeli side. It is not possible for us to consent to this. Genocide is being committed and children are being killed before the eyes of the world. Those children could be our children. The cities destroyed there may be our cities. We are on opposing sides with the USA. Kürecik needs to be closed. The USA should get its act together."
“WE SHOULD NOT BE IN A GROUP THAT DESTROYS US”
Underlining that Sweden's NATO membership issue should not be viewed favorably, Karamollaoğlu made warnings about NATO and the USA.
"We should not act like the 51st state of the USA. NATO supported the massacres. Murder is being committed. If NATO gains this freedom; let's go out. We cannot be NATO's servants and slaves. New formations are needed. We have a proposal to President Erdoğan. Call a meeting of the D-8 countries. Invite representatives of all Islamic countries together. Let's talk about the problems we encounter. They cook boza in the neck of Palestine. We must bring together the D-8, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Turkish republics. What are we doing in a group that destroys us? Karamollaoğlu said.
