Korkmaz answered a wide range of questions, from how to understand the month of Ramadan, how to organize our relationship with the Qur'an in Ramadan, from the importance of Ramadan in the name of moral development to the unity and peace of the Islamic geography.

Speaking about the month of Ramadan with valuable names, Milli Gazete also made a valuable interview with Ömer Faruk Korkmaz Hodja.

Speaking to our newspaper, Dirayet Magazine's Editor-in-Chief, lecturer and writer Ömer Faruk Korkmaz said that Ramadan is a summary of the year.

"HOW WE PASS THE RAMADAN THE WHOLE YEAR WILL PASS IN THE SAME WAY"

We are in Ramadan, the month of mercy, blessings and gufran. How should we, as believers, understand this month?

If we want to understand Ramadan well and benefit from its blessings, we must know this: Ramadan is the summary of the year. In other words, how we spend Ramadan and how we evaluate it, the whole year passes in the same way. For this reason, we should live Ramadan the way we want to spend our whole year. If there are any human rights that we have to pay this month, we must pay it without neglecting it. See, this is very important. Because, while our prophet is talking about paying the rights of the people, he warns us to get halal before that terrible day comes when no dirhams and dinars will be valid and no one's rights will be left to anyone. Regrets won't do any good tomorrow. For this reason, we should take advantage of this month and try to provide the rights of the people.

“WE SHOULD PRAY OUR PRAYERS AT THE MOSQUE WITH THE COMMUNITY”

We should also try to make our personal worship more regular, if possible, to increase it. We should use Ramadan as a means to get used to the night prayer of tahajjud. We must take care to perform our prayers in congregation in the mosque. We should try to perform tarawih prayers without interruption. If we do this, we will accustom ourselves to be able to live a life in this way for thirty days all year round. It should also be noted that some of our brothers do these prayers with care only during Ramadan, and then they stop. It shouldn't be like that. As we have said, meticulous observance of meetings in this month should be viewed as an exercise for the other eleven months.

"OUR BROTHERS WHO DO NOT KNOW HOW TO READ THE QUR'AN SHOULD LEARN IMMEDIATELY"

How should we arrange our relationship with the Qur'an in Ramadan?

Even in the month when Allah mentions the month of Ramadan, the fact that this month is a very virtuous and fruitful month is attributed to the Qur'an. The relevant verse is as follows:

"During the month of Ramadan the Qur'an was sent down as a guidance to the people with Clear Signs of the true guidance and as the Criterion (between right and wrong)." (Baqara, 185)

That is, the virtue that makes the month of Ramadan superior to other months is that the Qur'an was revealed in it. Likewise, the "Night of Power", which is stated to be better than a thousand months in Surah Qadr, is like that. Since the Qur'an was lowered to the world sky that night, it was so virtuous that night. So isn't it time to ask ourselves this question? If the month of Ramadan and the Lailat al-Qadr are so superior because the Qur'an was sent down in them, what would be its value in the sight of Allah if a person was busy with the Qur'an, acted on it, memorized it and applied it to his life? Can you imagine this person's superiority over other people? Our brothers and sisters who do not know how to read the Qur'an in the month of Ramadan, which we call the "month of the Qur'an" by contemplating this point, should learn immediately. Those who know should also make at least one hatim, and if possible, they should try to read tafsir. Reaction is one of the important sunnahs of this month. For this reason, a reaction ring should definitely be attended. When we do this, we will see by experience what kind of tranquility and peace the Qur'an brings to our spiritual world. As I said, it will be much more magnificent if we take tafsir lessons and learn what the verses say to today's world and what they recommend us as a solution.

“FASTING IS A SCHOOL RAISING PEOPLE”

It is a fact that we are in a serious moral collapse as a country. What is the importance of Ramadan for moral development?

As you know, Ramadan is the month of "fighting". In other words, it is a month to give up the things that the soul desires, such as eating and drinking, for Allah's sake. In this sense, fasting is a madrasa that trains people to train their will and self-purification. What we call morality means being able to get rid of the bad suggestions of the soul. We cannot say that a person who has a habit of following his own desires is moral. On the contrary, this person will be addicted to all kinds of immorality like a leaf blown by the wind in front of the various desires of his soul. If we understand fasting, which is the madrasah of raising moral people, which paves the way for morality, we will have fasted in a perfect sense. Otherwise, if we perceive fasting as just not eating and drinking, we will be preventing the "revolutions" that fasting will make in our souls with our own hands. In this way, we will be hurting ourselves.

Let's not forget the following hadith of our Prophet Mohammad (pbuh): "Whoever does not stop telling lies and acting on it, Allah does not need him to abandon his eating and drinking." (Bazzar, 8428)

In other words, our Prophet (pbuh) is saying to us, do not prevent the moral revolutions that fasting will create in you, surrender to the fast... Let fasting cleanse and purify you. Otherwise, fasting and continuing immorality means that you do not understand the wisdom of fasting.
