Dr. Necmettin Çalışkan, Burhan Bozgeyik and Milli Gazete Van Provincial Representative Ahmet Hasan Ahmedi as well as many citizens attended the program. The opening speech of Milli Gazete Van 50th Anniversary Program was delivered by Saadet Party Van Provincial President Özay İlhan.

Özay İlhan, who said that the Milli Gazete provided a great service with its publications, stated that he was rendering a great service with the headlines, news and comments of the Milli Gazete at a time when the facts were hidden and not announced.

AGD Van Branch President Ömer Gündüz also gave examples of the importance of the Milli Gazete in his greeting speech.

“WE BELIEVED AND TRUSTED OUR DESTINATION”

Addressing the participants in the 50th Anniversary of Milli Gazete, Mustafa Kurdaş, the Editor-in-Chief of the Milli Gazete, stated that the press sector in Turkey is degenerating,

"In our country, the press has always been bent and twisted. Some newspapers in Turkey can change their editorial policy even when the editor-in-chief is changed. In other words, it is very difficult to find a media organ that speaks the truth," Kurdaş said.

Saying that Milli Gazete is not just another newspaper, Kurdaş drew attention to the importance of the message conveyed by the Milli Gazete.

Emphasizing that what makes Milli Gazete meaningful and powerful is its message and direction, Mustafa Kurdaş used following words:

"Because the arrow is straight, it goes straight. It has a half-century-honored history that expresses the soul root of our beloved nation, broadcasting not according to time, conditions, conjunctures or interests, but according to the motto 'The truth has arrived, falsehood has perished' in its logo. Exposed to definitions such as cartel media, affiliate media, funded media; The half-century-old history of Milli Gazete is Turkey's history of moral journalism, in a journalism understanding where headlines are sold, interests precede the news, and lies are fed. We believed and trusted our direction, not money, power, fame."

"THE VALUES THAT ARE THE SOUL ROOT OF THIS NATION ARE OUR REASON FOR EXISTENCE"

Mustafa Kurdaş, who gave examples of journalism reflecting the 50-year history of the Milli Gazete, continued his words as follows:

"There are values and principles that we defend. Values, which are the root of the soul of this nation, are the reason for our existence. It is essential for us to be the newspaper of the Milli Gorus movement, which struggles for 'morality and spirituality first', and to display the stance that will lead this nation to happiness. We are the brave spokesperson of all segments of society. We defend tradesmen, farmers, workers and civil servants and we have a law with them. We stand by believers, our citizens and those who are unjustly oppressed and become their voices. Milli Gazete never took shape according to money, power and fame. Keeping the truth above anything is our motto."

“OUR NEWSPAPER IS THE BEST INTERPRETATION OF IDEAS”

Milli Gazete Writer Assoc. Dr. Necmettin Çalışkan stated that the Milli Gazete is the flagship of the Milli Görüş cause for half a century.

"Milli Gazete did not deviate from the line of the 50-year-old Milli Görüş community, nor did it compromise the principles of this case. With its infallible and infallible mission, Milli Gazete has always served as a source of nourishment for its readers. Millî Gazete readers think and talk the same things from Edirne to Kars, from Hakkari to Van. Because the food sources are the same. Today, newspaper is more of a means of obtaining ideas and interpreting events rather than a means of communication. In this respect, the newspaper that best interprets ideas in Turkey is Milli Gazete," he said.
