In the press release organized under the leadership of Öz Sağlık-İş Union, workers appealed to the government to give the right to their sweat and end their grievances.

Istanbul branches of Öz Sağlık-İş Union made a press statement in İstanbul Beyazıt Square to solve the problems of health and social service workers.

Making the press statement, Öz Sağlık-İş Union President Devlet Sert noted that health workers suffered greatly due to supplementary payments, prohibition of appointment and mandatory retirement practices.

Stating that there are clear provisions in the legislation, there are many problems regarding financial rights in practice, Sert, "We want to benefit from additional payments, regardless of status. Institutions should act in accordance with the legislation on road fare. We demand that our 112 Ambulance drivers, who work as permanent workers, make the 24/72 hour working system permanent, just like the civil servants. The 24-hour working order is not compatible with the Labor Law. Relevant regulations should be made in the law and the contradictions that cause trouble in the field should be eliminated. While working 24 hours a day in the institutions of the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services, only 11 hours of this amount should be paid and overtime should not be paid. Liability compensation experienced in the institutions of the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services, the problems experienced in the institutions of the Children's Houses Site and the conflict of debts law, and the wage deductions made by counting 7.5 hours of 24 hours of rest in children's institutions are not just, they are not in accordance with the legislation, We want it to be fixed," he said.

COVID-19 SHOULD BE ACCEPTED AS OCCUPATIONAL DISEASE FOR ALL HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS

Requiring that Covid-19 be evaluated as an occupational disease and occupational accident for all healthcare workers without any discrimination, Sert, "All healthcare workers who lost their lives by being caught in Covid-19 during the pandemic process should also be considered duty martyrs without any discrimination. We demand that the names of the employees who lost their lives be given to their institutions or to any unit in the institutions to keep their memories alive," he added.

WE WANT TO HAVE A TASK DEFINITION

Stating at the end of the press release that they expect a job description for health and social service workers, Sert, "The greatest appreciation and gratitude for us is the injustice, discrimination we have experienced in this process in which we reveal our lives, and the denial of our hard work. Our problems, most of which are caused by practices contrary to legislation and arbitrariness in institutions, are not unsolved. Despite all these negativities, we will continue to fulfill our duty properly. But we want those who see our existence to see our labor," he added.
