Milk premium support and calf support, which are important support items in animal husbandry dealing with various problems, have not been paid for months. The milk producers ask through the Milli Gazete.

September has arrived, but the support that was due in January has not been paid yet. While feed prices are constantly increasing, the government, which constantly suppresses the milk prices produced by the producer on the grounds that it will increase inflation, has not been able to pay the producer its premium support for months. While the producer cannot raise the milk they produce at the same rate as the feed prices, industrialists and markets can sell the milk they buy from the producer for prices as low as 2.90 liras to the consumers, at prices up to 9 liras, due to the increase in their products as they wish.

The season has come and gone, the payments have not been made. Even the minister doesn't know.

Due to the distortion in the support policies, milk producers were already receiving their premium support 5 months behind. Normally, January's premium support can only be paid in May, while this year's premium support that should be paid in May could not be paid, despite the arrival of September. No one, including Minister Pakdemirli, knows when premium supports will be paid. As it is known, milk prices are constantly pressured by the Food Committee on the grounds that it will increase inflation. Despite the increase in feed prices, the fact that milk prices do not increase at the same rate causes the producer to produce at a loss.

MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE DOESN'T MAKE AN EXPLANATION

There is preparation, but it is unclear how many months will be paid. While the milk producer is experiencing serious grievances, the fact that the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry does not make a statement about when the milk premium support will be paid increases the reactions even more.

According to the information received from the sources of the Ministry, it is noted that the control of the data entries continues and the supports will be paid as soon as possible. It is not yet known whether the milk premium support will be only for January or whether January, February and March will be given together.

Milk premium supports and calf supports, which are important support items in animal husbandry, cannot be paid. Despite the arrival of September, the milk premium support of January has not been paid yet, and the second term calf support of 2020 has not been paid. The non-payment of milk premium supports for 2021 has put the producer in an inextricable situation.

As it is known, milk prices are constantly pressured by the Food Committee on the grounds that it will increase inflation. Despite the increase in feed prices, the fact that milk prices do not increase at the same rate causes the producer to produce at a loss. For this reason, milk premium support payments are of great importance for dairy producers who produce at a loss. The producer, who could not earn money from the milk he produced, was breathing with some support payments.

WHY ARE THE MILK PREMIUM SUPPORTS NOT PAID?

Due to the skewness in the support policies, milk producers already receive their premium support 5 months behind. Normally, January's premium support can only be paid in May, while this year, despite the arrival of September, the premium support that should be paid in May could not be paid. While this situation reveals how the implemented support system protects the producer, the cyber attack on the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry at the beginning of August was the spice of the day. While all data entries for January premium support were completed, all data was damaged with the cyber attack.

INDUSTRIALISTS INCREASE PRICES WHENEVER THEY WANT

The biggest handicap in animal husbandry is experienced in milk prices. As it is known, while milk prices were determined by the National Dairy Council until recently, this authority was completely transferred to the Food Committee. The increase in milk prices is first discussed in the Food Committee and the increase determined in the committee is announced by the National Dairy Council. While the National Dairy Council was completely disabled in the determination of milk prices, the fact that the Food Committee did not take a decision that would satisfy the producer on the grounds that it would increase inflation hits the production, on the other hand, the industrialists and markets raise the milk prices as they wish, revealing the great emphasis on milk.
