While threats and warnings continue between Russia, the USA and NATO due to the Ukraine crisis, a new move came from the Russian deputies.
The deputies of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (RFKP) presented the draft resolution calling to Russian President Vladimir Putin to recognize the independence of the Donetsk People's Republic (DHC) and Lugansk People's Republic (LHC), which declared their unilateral independence.
In the text of the draft, it is said, "In these republics, democratic structures and states with all the qualities of legitimate power have been built on the basis of the will of the people in the past years."
According to communist deputies, who described this step as "reasonable and morally justified", recognition will lay the groundwork for ensuring the safety of these peoples and their protection from foreign threats and the implementation of a genocidal policy.
It also contributes to the strengthening of peace and regional stability and the recognition of both states by the international community. It is noted that it will help to start the process.
Calling to start talks with the DHC and LHC as soon as possible, the deputies stated that this will form the legal basis for interstate relations that will regulate the field of cooperation, including security.
If the draft of the Russian deputies is accepted, the Russia-Ukraine crisis will gain a new dimension.
