“EVENTS, THE BEGINNING OF A NEW ERA”

Speaking at the meeting, Alim Bayel, the Consul General of Kazakhstan in Istanbul, stated that the peaceful demonstrations organized in Kazakhstan in January to express the social demands of the people were provoked by some segments. Saying that the events were the beginning of a new era for Kazakhstan, Bayel stated that the Kazakhstan government put many new reform packages on its agenda after the events, and shared the information that President Kasım Cömert Tokayev will announce the reform package in March.

“THE CONCEPT OF ‘NEW KAZAKHSTAN’ STARTED TO BE VOICED”

Sharing information about the contents of the reforms planned to be realized in Kazakhstan, Bayel said, “The concept of 'New Kazakhstan' has started to be spoken in Kazakhstan. In other words, there is a social exchange of ideas on how to correct the mistakes made in the past and how Kazakhstan can be directed to a different channel.”

“WE HAVE ALWAYS BEEN ON THE SIDE OF TURKEY”

Emphasizing that Kazakhstan's relations with Turkey are at the level of strategic partnership, "Our bilateral relations with Turkey have been very strong since 1991. Turkey has always been with us. After that, it will always be. We have always stood by Turkey and will continue to be. Especially in recent years, our cooperation in many fields such as transportation, culture, education, economy and security has gained much greater momentum,” Bayel added.
