IBB opened the Mecidiyeköy-Fulya-Yıldız section of the Kabataş-Mecidiyeköy-Mahmutbey metro line, which is its 189th service within the scope of the "150 Projects in 150 Days" marathon, for use yesterday.
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu stated that the AKP could not bear to lose BB, which it saw as its personal property.
"They see how satisfied the people of Istanbul are with our administration. That's why they are trying to seize the IBB before the local elections. Frankly, they are trying to get me banned, clear the square, steal and play themselves. Our competitors are trying to pull the same operation before the 2023 general elections and turn the result of the general elections in their favor. Get your hands off the court immediately. Leave the judiciary independent. If you have the courage and dignity to deal with your problems at the ballot box, go out and fight with all your courage at the ballot box," İmamoğlu said.
WE ENDED THE 'Burnout SYNDROME' IN IMM
"As of the moment we took office, we put an end to the 'burnout syndrome' in IBB. With our waste-free budget, with a merit-based management approach that is absolutely far from partisanship, with our energy, with a moral and virtuous attitude that is aware of the fact that we manage the money of Istanbulites, with our ability to do business correctly and carefully, we both accelerated and added quality to the metro production in Istanbul. From the moment we took over these works, which were started before the completion of the plan, project and financing, and the metro constructions that were abandoned to their fate, we set a new record on behalf of the people of Istanbul by activating 10 metro constructions at the same time. During the previous 25 years, we have exceeded 2.5 times the annual metro production as of today, and we are going towards 3 times. Even the level you have reached will not be able to make up for the lost years of Istanbul. Obstacles from the ruling wing must end as soon as possible," İmamoğlu added.
THERE WILL BE 19 STATIONS IN TOTAL
"The total length of the Kabataş-Mahmutbey line is 24.5 kilometers. The line, which consists of 19 stations, will have a capacity of 70 thousand passengers in one direction. The line will pass through Beyoğlu, Beşiktaş, Şişli, Kağıthane, Eyüpsultan, Gaziosmanpaşa, Esenler and Bağcılar districts; At Kabataş Station, it will be integrated into Kabataş-Taksim Funicular Line and Kabataş-Bağcılar Tram Line. The Yenikapı-Mecidiyeköy Line will also be integrated with the said line. Habibler-Edirnekapı-Topkapı Line from Karadeniz Mahallesi Station is also one of the integration points. The final integration will be with the Otogar-Bağcılar-Kirazlı-Basakşehir-Olympic Metro Line from Mahmutbey Station," Mayor İmamoğlu said.
