The citizen woke up with the news of another hike day. The price of electricity used in residences increased by 5.6 percent, and industrial and commercial electricity prices by 5.7 percent. Thus, electricity prices have increased by 22.5 percent since last July.
The Energy Market Regulatory Authority's (EPDK) decision on electricity prices was published in yesterday's issue of the Official Gazette. According to the new tariff, the price of electricity used in households increased by 5.6 percent, and the price of electricity used in businesses and industry increased by 5.7 percent.
The active electricity wholesale price to be applied by Electricity generation joint stock company (EÜAŞ) as of October 1, 2020 will be 15.4894 cent per kilowatt-hour in sales to supply companies charged with technical and non-technical lost energy sales to distribution companies.
In sales to distribution companies within the scope of general lighting, it will be applied as 29 cent per kilowatt-hour.
Turkey Statistical Institute, according to data released last week, residential, 1 kilowatt of electricity to consumers in 2020 amounts paid in the first period had increased by 32.3 per cent 71.2 per cent compared to the same period last year. The amount that consumers paid for 1 cubic meter of natural gas in residences in the first period of 2020 increased by 34.7 percent compared to the same period of the previous year and reached an average of 182.6 cent.
