Saadet Party Konya Deputy and Youth Branch Chairman Abdulkadir Karaduman brought the engineers and contractors who built the buildings to the agenda of the Turkish Grand National Assembly after the earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş.

Karaduman, who submitted a parliamentary question to the Presidency of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey for the Minister of Interior Süleyman Soylu to answer, asked the number of contractors and engineers who were detained and arrested after the earthquake.

“JUSTICE NEEDS TO BE BROUGHT”

Karaduman reminded that 50,576 buildings in 10 provinces should be demolished, heavily damaged or urgently demolished in the investigations made after the earthquake.

"The housing construction engineering process is a multi-stage process as legal processes and administrative processes. However, it is understood that there is no process carried out other than the contractors as far as it is reflected in the press. It is essential that the judicial and administrative processes regarding those responsible for this destruction and loss are maintained in a healthy manner, not delayed, and that everyone with responsibility is brought to justice without any discrimination, so that these sufferings and losses are not experienced again," Karaduman said.

HOW MANY CONTRACTORS ARE ARRESTED?

Karaduman then asked the following questions to the Minister of Interior Soylu:

"What is the number of contractors detained and arrested and the number of engineers involved in the building construction process? What is the number of contractors or engineers who currently hold managerial positions in political parties and whose responsibilities are determined and action is taken against them? Are there any investigations carried out against the local administrators in the municipalities that give licenses to the destroyed buildings in the disaster area? In this context, who are the persons who are subject to action? Are there any investigations carried out about building inspection companies that comply with the structures in the disaster area? Which companies are dealt with in this context?"
