Saadet Party Konya Deputy Abdulkadir Karaduman asked the Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Bilgin by submitting a question to the Presidency of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey about the "unregistered work" debate over Syrian and Afghan refugees. Stating that the understanding of cheap labor can cause structural problems, Karaduman asked whether the ministry has any work on informal workers.

Saadet Party Konya Deputy and Head of Youth Branch Abdulkadir Karaduman brought the issue of "informal workers", which has been on the agenda in recent days, to the agenda of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM). Karaduman, who submitted a question to the Presidency of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, with the request of Vedat Bilgin, Minister of Labor and Social Security, asked the number of unregistered employees.

MAY CAUSE STRUCTURAL PROBLEMS

Reminding that Syrian and Afghan refugees are employed informally for low wages in areas such as textiles and industry, Karaduman said that the understanding that accepts refugees as cheap labor will lead to various structural problems in the short and long term.

Karaduman, who asked questions to the Minister of Labor and Social Security Bilgin on the subject, emphasized how many of the people working in Turkey are foreign nationals, "How many of them are informal workers? What studies does your ministry carry out to identify unregistered workers? What are the legal processes and penal actions applied to individuals and organizations that are found to employ unregistered cheap workers? What are the activities of your ministry to protect labor and reduce unemployment? What is the estimated unemployment figure for December 2021?" he asked.
