It has been nearly two years since the coronavirus pandemic broke out. It seems that we will live with this pandemic for a while. According to some statements, it is possible to say that the pandemic effect will decrease in the coming summer months, or more precisely, new variants of the virus should be cautious against this disease.

At the beginning of the epidemic, there was a package of measures expressed as mask, distance and hygiene to be protected. However, the vaccine soon came to the fore. However, for some unknown reason, a serious resistance emerged for the first time in our country. A part of the society has started a serious campaign against the vaccine. To be honest, I don't understand why. Because I have been involved in vaccination campaigns carried out in our country every year throughout my life. Especially in the vaccination campaigns carried out in schools, no one would ask anyone whether they wanted to be vaccinated, the health teams that came to the schools would vaccinate all the students regularly, and those who were vaccinated would be sent to the school administration's house.

In short, vaccination campaigns were routine procedures in our country. Various vaccines are still given periodically for newborns. In other words, there has never been a question in the minds about this issue until now. However, when it comes to the coronavirus, some tried to stay out of the campaign, describing it as an interference with freedom and stating that vaccination cannot be made by force. A similar situation was in question in some European countries, but after the states stayed away from forcing those who did not want to be vaccinated for a while, they started to apply various restrictions. For example, the travel of those who are not vaccinated, not only between countries, but even within their own countries, and beyond that, their movements were restricted. At this point, the old resistance to vaccination has decreased.

It is difficult to explain the reason for this resistance. Because although contradictory statements in the statements made confuse people, some of them have turned the opposition to vaccination into an ideological opposition. I think the inconsistency and uncertainty in the explanations made the job of these anti-vaccine opponents easier. It is useful to briefly remind the explanations and evaluations that cause confusion.

For example, when the coronavirus first started to spread, it was not subject to change, to appear under the name of a new variant. However, over time, the virus began to change and new variants began to emerge. As such, each new variant of the virus has changed the assessments on this issue, bringing new discussions to the agenda. This added to the confusion even more.

When two different news stories about vaccination came to the agenda in the same newspaper on the same day, optimistic and pessimistic statements did not have the necessary effect on people. For example, while a statement called for those who have received two doses of vaccine to take a reminder dose immediately after completing the 6th month, there was another news item under the headline "A startling rate for the last variant: The protection of the vaccine has dropped to 33 percent". On the same day, on the same page, there were two news items under the headings "Omicron may be the dominant variant in a month" and "In the European intensive care crisis".

There is a lot of news in the media. As such, people get confused especially about vaccines. This makes it difficult to deal with the epidemic. This mess needs to end. I don't think this is impossible either. As long as the state stands firm on this issue.
