Not only do we repeat and repeat that we are a part of Europe for years, our place is with the EU, but we cannot ensure that the door of the EU is opened despite all our persistent expressions of commitment. In short, EU countries are not very interested in where and in what situation we see ourselves.

As a result, they do not accept us as their own. Even if we paint ourselves with AB paint as much as we want, the result does not change. Even if we are willing to wait on the doorstep just for them to accept us and describe our own success as the success of the EU, nothing changes.

For example, when a problem with Greece comes to the fore, the EU seems to stand by Greece. Beyond that, the USA is acting together with the EU on this issue and they immediately set their ranks alongside Greece.

Of course they will make their own decisions. We also see that there is no point in waiting for them to do what is in our hearts. In order not to see, we must either be blind or ignore it by closing our eyes.

In his speech at the NATO Foreign Ministers meeting, Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu stated that Turkey is an assurance for peace and stability in the region and said, “Turkey's success is also Europe's success. The EU should start a new enlargement process," he said. It seems that; If such a new process is started, there is an opinion that the EU will accept Turkey as a member.

At this point, it would not be wrong to say that there is a similar situation regarding relations with NATO. Because, despite Turkey being a more senior NATO member, like Greece, on the one hand, the USA is arming Greece against Turkey, and when there is a conflict, it takes a stance along the lines of Greece in international platforms.

However, the EU has started the membership process several times since its establishment and accepted new members. However, when it comes to Turkey, it does not move a finger. With these attitudes, they actually display the most appropriate attitude in their own opinion. Because whether we accept it or not, the EU sees itself as a Christian community and when it comes to countries that meet this criteria, the doors open immediately.

When it comes to Turkey, the door is closed. The same can be said for NATO. In international relations, both organizations often act together. In other words, they behave similarly. In the face of this situation, it is not possible to understand why we still consider ourselves compelled to join the EU.

It seems that beyond waiting at the door, he insisted, “We are one of you too. Even though we say that our side is on your side, too, it is clear that this view of ours is not accepted.

Without further ado, I find it useful to repeat a fact. When Turkey and Greece come face to face in the relations with the EU, NATO and the USA, the EU, NATO and the USA find a cover and take their place next to Greece and do not show any hesitation in this regard.

Despite this fact, I think there is no point in deceiving ourselves with some illusions when it is obvious that we still see ourselves as one of the equal members of NATO, and that the EU will definitely continue to stand by it when it comes to Greece. Our being kept waiting at the door will be beneficial for the EU, as they do not kick us out of the door.

When we remember that the establishment of NATO was supposedly created against Russia, this discourse has no meaning at the point we have reached. Because the USA and Russia act together on the exploitation of the world and support each other in various ways. In this respect, it is necessary to stop saying that we are a part of the Western world. Otherwise, we will continue to waste our time.
