First of all, I will share the title of “Why is the UN watching Israel who is committing war crimes?” and then, I will explain where does the issue come from. My answer to the title question is: There is no practice that the UN can do beyond watching and protecting Israel. So, the existence of the UN is not something but seem to have acted as a demonstration in the case of the Islamic world, in other words, it is not something but to protect the interests of the five permanent members of the Security Council.

Despite the fact that this reality is known, sometimes the countries that are persecuted from time to time are stuck in the wrong way to expect help from the UN. As the last instance of it, in the final report prepared by the Independent Commission of the United Nations (UN) 2018 Gaza Protests Indepent Investigation Commission it was announced that the violations of Israeli troops on the border of the blockade of the Gaza Strip held last year in the peaceful “Great Return March” may enter the scope of the war crimes and the crimes against humanity. In general, this statement appeared in the media under the topic of “Israel committed war crimes”. However, the commission to investigate the murders in the Gaza had explained the report prepared after their investigations in the press conference which is organized in the UN Geneva Office. A clear language is not used in the statement. Because, as in the headlines of newspapers, it is not said in the report that “Israel committed war crimes”. The statement said that “the violations of Israel against Palestinians in Gaza could enter the scope of the war crimes and the crimes against humanity”. And the statement continues as this:

“An investigation should be launched to the Israeli soldiers who killed 189 Palestinians on purpose”

In the report, it is pointed out that 183 of the civilians killed later lost their lives with real bullets and 6 thousand of 106 Palestinians were wounded with real bullets. In the report highlighted that most of the killed and wounded civilians do not pose a threat to the security forces, it is also revealed that three thousand 98 Palestinian civilians were wounded with shrapnel fragments, plastic bullets and tear gas bombs. It is said in the news that the report will be presented to the Human Rights Commission on 18 March.

Even if the Israeli soldiers in the report presented to the commission are convicted of the crimes against humanity, will a sanction be initiated against Israeli? Can the US be expected to take such a step? I personally would like to wait fort his result but how this organization will serve to others during establishment stage and the organizational structure is determined accordingly, it seems that the Palestinians and the Islamic world is struggling to be taken by preparing such a vague report to the public. I would like to be mistaken in my thinking but it is not possible to think optimistically when the applications are remembered. Moreover, if it is necessary to do so, should not the 5 permanent members of the Security Council have to take action already? How far has the UN given a convincing response to the massacres of Israel?

Is it not possible to create a structure that will protect the opprosed and oppose the oppression in the world? Of course, it is possible but for this the Islamic world has to unite . If this can be achieved, the countries in question may at least take a step forward in order not to overlook the underground and surface riches of the Islamic world. If this can be achieved, the persecution can be stopped. It is not possible for them to be aligned without creating an alternative against the UN. When the giaour love of some Muslim leaders is added to this, one does not look positively to the future.
