Although there is a little time left for the schools to open, uncertainty about what will happen remains. For example, will remedial training be possible? If it will be done, will it be done in the classroom or in the form of distance education? Make-up education in private schools would begin on August 15th. However, this date is approaching, but there is no clarity. Statements are made every day, but the future of the issue remains uncertain. Some recommend the New York model in schools, some say that it will act according to the situation of the epidemic, and that it is ready as a ministry just in case. It is understood that if schools cannot be opened on the announced date, distance education will be on the agenda. However, it is a fact that a significant part of the students could not benefit from the distance education applied before. Because until the epidemic, distance education in primary and secondary education had never been on the agenda. Maybe it was talked behind closed doors, it is impossible for us to know it.

Although it is said that alternative education is ready for every situation that will arise in the epidemic, it is not clear what kind of application will be on the agenda if schools are opened. It is stated that there are at most three different applications. These are not clearly shared with the public. This situation creates serious problems for parents. Because amongst all the confusing statements made, our people cannot find a clear answer. Because of the confusion that has arisen, the results of the poll showing that 64 percent of our people do not find it safe to open schools are reflected in the media.

In the meantime, the question of what will work and how if schools are not opened remains in the middle. Although some interested parties state that the desired result has been achieved from the past short-term practice of distance education, which is presented as a great invention, it is also a fact that the students around us are not motivated enough about distance education in the past time. As a result, unavoidably, people do not find the opening of schools safe under these conditions, and if not, it comes to mind that the education will be incomplete. As such, the concern that if schools are not opened, a lost year will arise in front of us is increasingly common.

Of course, the health and life of our people is more important than anything else. In this regard, the health of our children should be addressed first. If schools are opened, children go to and from their schools by public transport or school buses. Then how will the social distance setting be provided? If parents are to take their children to school, different problems will arise there as well. Clear answers must be given to all these questions. Because the epidemic is not just about daily published test results. There are various problems that do not come to those conclusions. In particular, there are some sick types in the society, even if they are small, that they do not take the measures to protect against the epidemic seriously from the very beginning. As such, how will the pups who will go to school by public transport protect themselves? Let's say we protected it until they go to school, how will they be protected there? Will social distance setting and wearing a mask be guaranteed? Because, as far as we can see, some people, albeit small in number, as well as educated people satisfy themselves by challenging the society and the epidemic.

The questions that arise in minds are increasing day by day. In this respect, at least some of these problems need to be answered before schools are opened. Otherwise, parents will take their children to school themselves, pick them up from the school and take them to their homes. What will those who do not have the means to do this in terms of financial or business situation? It should not be forgotten that; Finding a solution to the problem by printing new textbooks will not be as easy as it seems.
